Despite not properly "cultivating" a special penchant for the synthetic oudish creations I tend to moderately appreciate the watery/fruity/spicy-aqueous calibrations of the renowned resin and at same time I sincerely appreciate the genuine Sarah McCartney's creativity. "Be careful what you wish for- Fruit Oudh" is a weird woody fragrance, a somewhat bizarre one which gradually alternates citric-aqueous-oudish initial fizziness (pungent, aromatic and vaguely bitter) with a sort of gummy-leathery lingering iris-like floral vibe a la Laboratorio Olfattivo Daimiris/Parfumerie Generale Cuir d'Iris, than a classic elegant masculine woody oudish charming appeal a la YSL M7 with a tad of "apothecarian syrupy mintiness" and going on interchanging a typical cedary undertone with several classic obscure musky-chypre facets. This juice combines indeed classicism and brash/synth "modernism", the fizzy-watery-fruity resins/oudh's implementation (vaguely a la Bond New York Oud, Lalique Hommage a L' Homme Voyageur or Paco Rabanne Black XS) with a profound woody-chypre-oriental background a la Annick Goutal Mon Parfum Cheri Par Camille or Neela Vermeire Trayee, several dark berries/violet-based bouquet and several iris-leather-woods accords. I pick up many M7's characteristics from this formula. This fragrance is quite obscure, gummy, tart (sweet/bitter) and berrish-resinous and could easily bear such a "ghostly" name like whichever Black Angel or Black Excess bla, bla, bla. I find this scent (for long) anyway too much bitter-fizzy and "raspberrish" for my full pleasure (citrus, liquid spices) while anyway I pick up plenty of interesting nuances and peculiarities. I get for instance a "pencil shavings-like" facet a la Montana Graphite (on the side of this aromatic greenness, the spicy-resinous orientalism, the "iris-driven" muskines and the "mastic like" gumminess). Patchouli is surely present (dark and silky-chic) enhancing the violet/blackberry/plum-like sort of velvety blackness, synth oudh (softened by a "bed sheet" of blackcurrant) unfolds its sort of velvety rubbery/leathery/boot polish-like temperament and all the central phase of development is woody, fruity-spicy, vaguely vanillic, kind of leather/red berries-like and cedary. You need time to appreciate this 4160 Tuesday's fragrance, dry down is indeed drier, cedary, more delicate, soft, wearable and "pluri-nuanced". Don't overapply this powerful scent guys, spray just a minimal tad on skin, it is more than enough for a powerful and articulated projection. Along the dry down's tail this pencil-shaving vibe definitely sprouts out so cedary and typically woody (still anyway supported by a standout oudish "boots polish" rubber). Over its "spritzy" (citric) opening this daring juice calms down starting finally to explore the darker side of the metropolitan black velvet, the depth of urban elusiveness, the smoothest face of enigmatic muskiness, the most encompassing embrace of this shadowy "taking the world by storm" dark-woody resin. Enjoy.
