About Essences Insensées 2015 (Jasmine)

Diptyque will be changing the formula of Essences Insensées every year, based on what ingredients smell the best at the time. The 2014 formula was based on mimosa, while 2015 features jasmine from Grasse.

From Diptyque:

After mimosa in 2014, jasmine provides the inspiration for this new opus. A very special kind of jasmine. Grown in Grasse, at the centre of the perfume industry, it isn’t picked until the autumn, at the very end of the season, when it has a fruity, almost candied quality. Essences Insensées is the result of the blooms picked by happenstance, and time itself. A fleeting fragrance whose origins lie on the hillsides of Grasse.

Reviews of Essences Insensées 2015 (Jasmine)

Very pretty and satisfies my need for a creamy, lovely realistic jasmine. I am surprised there are not more reviews for this. It's a "must-try" for jasmine lovers.

The indoles are not in-your-face, but take a back-seat, though are more present than, say, A la Nuit.

This jasmine is delightful. Rich, intensive with a creamy touch of sweetness. Sheer natural richness.

Into the drydown a pleasant orange a slightly green undertones with whiffs of a herbal earthiness. This as adds touches of variety to this otherwise soliflore creation.

I get moderate sillage, excellent projection and a very good seven hours of longevity on my skin.

This beautiful spring scent is unusual in combining high-quality natural ingredients with a very acceptable longevity. True, the olfactory accompaniments to the jasmine core are a bit second-rate and less enticing, but the overall result still impresses. 3.5/5.

Lovely, surprisingly sophisticated quasi-soliflore. I don't find it overly sweet or at all fruity, as it is described. Yet it is not particularly indolic either.

Very much like brushing by a hedge of jasmine at dusk here in Los Angeles, which is why it is full bottle worthy to me. Leaves me feeling as if I should shake the dried blossoms out of my long, beach-blown blonde hair.
