Nasomatto-Baraonda Extrait de Parfum

A wonderful boozy fragrance with impressive strenght and longevity (over 12hrs).
It opens with strong alcoholic notes of whiskey/rhum, that last for about 15 minutes. Then it evolves into a barely alcoholic fragrance, with the whiskey note less prominent, and the emerging of an amber note (ambroxan overdose), vanilla (vanillin) and mainly labdanum. There is also an honey note. After 1 hour, the whiskey note fades, leaving mainly ambroxan, labdanum and vanillin. I start smelling woody notes after 3/4 hours with the amber chord and ambrox still there. it surely is a sandalwood replacer (ebanol) or a mix of them ( the floral some people smell may be due to the use of javanol, i sincerely can't detect the floral part). After about 6 hours I can still smell it moving my head. Longevity as said, is over 12 hours (sprayed at 9.30 pm, and could smell it the morning after.
A masterpice IMHO.

A boozy concoction with tonka and vanilla added make for one nice fragrance. A slightly burned Tonka or caramel is in there. Either I'm going crazy, or there is a pine needle note in this also. Very nice. A boozy fragrance lovers gem. Projection and longevity are above average. Pardon is still top dog in my book.

Nasomatto Baraonda is a late 2016 release that seemingly ended up being one of the most hyped releases, purported as a boozy delight that was unlike previous Nasomatto releases.

It's certainly boozy, but mainly in the sense of a lighter rum, not a heavier scotch or whiskey, so I was a little surprised from the note breakdown (which is only an estimation, granted) as well as other accounts of the fragrance, which led me to believe it'd be a bit deeper. Instead, I get mainly a rum and liqueur-ish vibe.

Performance, like other Nasomattos, is quite excellent, as should be the expectation of a niche extrait priced at over $6/ml retail.

It definitely walks the line between "like" and "love" for now, at least. Someone pointed out to me that it has some of the similar lighter booziness of By Kilian Apple Brandy and it does ring a bell slightly in that respect, of course, with the major addition of apple. But the point is true---namely, that Baraonda isn't deeply resinous or reminiscent of dark, heavy spirits, and in that respect, that it's a departure from some of the heavier beasts, and seemingly most popular entries, of the Nasomatto line (Black Afgano, Pardon, Duro) means Baraonda could be viewed as a refreshing new offering. I for one need to try it a few more times.

I love it.

It is a boozy rendition of pure tonka by A*Men.

Its a bottle of cognac with woody undertones and a burst of tobacco and tonka from the outset.

Pardon was my favourite Nasomatto. I think it just got taken over.

I smell this i picture a glass of Cognac with a dash of berry flavourings as you would find in black forest gateu. Sat in a log cabin with the smell of a clean but christmasy wood in the background.
