Basenotes reporting from Esxence 2013

Tomorrow is the start of the 5th Esxence Fragrance Exhibition in Milan. The event aims to showcase the latest in niche and artisanal perfumery. We will be reporting to our readers all the news over the forthcoming days.

As well as over 120 brands presenting, the event is also host to panels and lectures including talks from Michael Edwards and Basenotes' Lila Das Gupta

One of the events leading up to years Esxence has been a contest to find new talents in the field of artistic perfumery. The winning fragrance will be the official Esxence fragrance, whose name will be "The Scent of Esxence 5 years of Excellence". The jury included Enrico Buccella, Cécile Zarokian, Maria Grazia Fornasier, Mark Buxton and Patricia di Nicolaï. A bottle for the scent is to be decided at the exhibition.

Basenotes will be tweeting at the event, as well as reporting all the latest news, and interviews on the site.

On Saturday and Sunday, Esxence is open to the public though you do need to register here beforehand.
