Crabtree and Evelyn have announced their new single note fragrance, Iris. Iris rhizome (also known as Orris root) forms the essence of the fragrance, and top notes of Italian bergamot and cassis have been added to the base of sandalwood, patchouli, cedarwood and creamy musk.

The fragrance is presented in a luxurious dense square bottle, with petal shaped edges. The glass is etched with a single Iris flower. Iris Eau de Toillette is priced at £24 for 100ml

Iris is accompanied by a collection of body and home products:

Triple Milled Soap, 3 x 85g - £15

Sounds like an interesting fragrance. Also, enjoyed reading the information on the Crabtree & Evelyn site about the inspiration and journey of this scent. I didn't know that the Iris root must be harvested and aged to perfection, the aging process takes 3-6 years before the essential oil can be extracted and made into perfume. I look forward to trying this one.

I tried this while out shopping the Saturday before LaborDay. I ended up covered with a lot of stuff that day but I remember this being 'pretty'. I can't speak on longevity or anything like that. I did get a sample vial to take home....hopefully I'll be able to better share my impression when I try it.

I tried this on today at the C&E store-- sprayed once on back of forearm. Seven hours later is it's still there, so no longevity issues with this one.

I rather like this, though not enough to actually buy it-- for some reason when I smelled it I immediately thought of the week I spent in Vancouver in 1986 visiting friends who took me to the Expo. The association is very strong-- hours later it still brings me back there.

Another great little numbre from C&E - got the sample by post - by request from their website.
I find this one Modern - Happy - Sparkling - Sunny - Fresh, with a great life one the skin.
Women and young ladies will certainly love that one.
