Esxence Milan 2012 : Basenotes reports

Today is the start of the 4th Esxence Fragrance Exhibition in Milan. The event aims to showcase the latest in niche and artisanal perfumery. We will be reporting to our readers all the news over the next four days.

As well as over 150 brands presenting, the event is also host to panels and lectures. On Friday, fragrance expert and author of Fragrances of the World, Michael Edwards, will moderate a panel discussion concerning the relationship between publishing and perfumery, highlighting the difficulties in the transposition in words of the olfactory sense, involving authors of textbooks and novels devoted to fragrance, journalists, experts and bloggers, while on Saturday, March 31st, our public will listen to an interesting historical-olfactory path of which the eau de cologne will be the protagonist, with its 300-years-long tradition.
