  1. A Reviewer's Rant (or Check Your Facts Before You Mock)

I usually steer clear of the discussion boards, as I A.) seem to be a human lightning rod for flame wars, and B.) have a weakness for getting sucked into the most uncivil exchanges. However, a current thread (certainly not the first, nor the most mean-spirited,) bemoaning the apparent elitism and bias toward obscure niche scents at Basenotes caught my attention. I was particularly struck with one sarcastic remark made in the context of innocent teens receiving recommendations for astronomically

  2. A Visit to The Vinyl Factory Lush Volume Three

Lush. Creators of perfume that manages to walk the rare path of interesting, well made and wonderfully easy to get your mitts on.

As you may already know (skip to the end), Lush has classified it's perfume output by borrowing terminology from the music industry. (It feels a little bit like duplicate posting on the discussion boards.) I invite those who are interested to check the Reviews by Way Off Scenter page periodically for new reviews.

  5. Fragrance Review: Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne

    Genre: Fruity Floral

This is basically the same kind of Del Monte canned peaches note that you can get for $245 US from By Killian's Flower of Immortality, offered here for a mere $60 US retail. Or you can just go out and spend $1.99 on the canned peaches. (Actually, the Jo Malone smells better than the expensive ultra-niche stuff – though maybe not better than the Del Monte.)

Granted, it’s a pleasant smell, but as a fragrance it’s
