  1. Andy Tauer, 4160 Tuesdays and other sniffs

Here is evidence of a gigantic sniffathon yesterday. These are only the ones I took on card, so missing about five times as many that were merely smelled directly from the spray tops.

    4160 Tuesdays (coloured ones), Bentley x 2, Frederick Malle, Roja x 6, Bvgari x 3,
YSL x 3, Tauer x 4, Atkinsons x 2, Tom Ford x 2, Loewe x 3, Lancome, Lalique, Boadicea The Victorious..... (can elaborate if you wish)

  2. Posh fragrance tests: Creed Original Vetiver, Tom Ford Noir

    Creed Original Vetiver

Euch, euch, EUCH. Everything I hate about mens' fragrances, all rolled into one tidy green-gradiented package. To me it said fougere, or rather screamed it constantly while trying to prise the lid off my skull with a rusty knife. Washed it off. Ah well; chalk this one up to an educational failed experiment... ...

Lush. Creators of perfume that manages to walk the rare path of interesting, well made and wonderfully easy to get your mitts on.

As you may already know (skip to the end), Lush has classified it's perfume output by borrowing terminology from the music industry. Greatest Hit's includes Breath of God, as sanctified by Luca Turin and Tina Sanchez; Volume One was the early output; Volume Two was largely inspired by the British Countryside and B-Sides and Rarities used to contain some ...

  5. Th-th-th-that's all folks!

Given the amount of Basenotes blog bandwidth these review postings consume, especially in relation to the viewing numbers, I believe it is appropriate that I discontinue duplicate posting Basenotes Directory reviews in this space. (It feels a little bit like duplicate posting on the discussion boards.) I invite those who are interested to check the Reviews by Way Off Scenter page periodically for new reviews.

Signing off for now, with best wishes to all,
