Cologne Chronicles

Simple simplicity. Just reviewing easy to find and easily accessible colognes that won't break the bank. Also chronicling scented adventures at the point of view from a normal dude in his mid 20's.

  1. Giving In: Bottle #6

by , 2nd February 2010 at 10:21 PM (Cologne Chronicles)
It's not often that I buy a cologne just by wearing it once. Okay, I lied, I did that with 212 for Men and Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme. You know what? Those were great when I had them! I'll be happy to wear those two whenever I get Sephora samples of them. What I just bought, I've only worn it once on myself for a full day. Just a couple hours ago, I put a light spritz of it on my wrist and I couldn't stop smelling it. It was so intriguing. After watching Brandon's YouTube video on this fragrance, ...

  2. Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3 (preview)

I haven't done one of these in a while and it's kinda late at night. I have to wake up in about 4 hours. Also, I have to give some of these fragrances a fair chance before my verdicts on each one. I like acquiring decants from kind people who'll provide me with some that are a little more difficult to get just because they aren't sold at Sephora (where I get most of my mainstream released samples). So, I'm a bit limited on that sort of thing. I normally like having at least over 1ml to work with ...

  3. Pacing Back And Forth: Tournament of Champions

by , 28th January 2010 at 11:46 PM (Cologne Chronicles)
I'm pretty close to reverting my collection back to where it was before November.

    Bulgari Aqua
    Allure Blanche Edition
    Mugler Cologne

....then whatever colder weather cologne of my choosing. Pure Malt perhaps?

This brings me to the topic covered a month ago about the "bottle #7" deal. I don't think I'll get to bottle #7. Here's why. It's not that I won't ever date again, it's just that, to me, everything I've purchased so far, I ...
  4. Recalling My Humble Beginnings Again

by , 22nd January 2010 at 07:20 PM (Cologne Chronicles)
Okay, I'm going to resume my "Testing 1, 2, 3" posts sometime later this week. It's been almost 2 years, so my nose has been fine tuned a bit, well, just more experienced. I just can't quite identify everything I'm smelling besides the fact that it smells like [insert fragrance here] or if it smells good or not. Anyway...

I was reading this thread and I was inspired to write yet another "this is where I started" post here. Except I decided to recall more details ...

  5. Poppin' the Cherry On My Nose: My Very First Bottle

by , 13th January 2010 at 09:05 AM (Cologne Chronicles)
I was 17 at the time and no, it wasn't a story on a zit. This story was inspired by this thread and I figured my post would be too winded to fit in a single sentence. I felt a blog post would be suitable for such a topic because folks, I have a story to tell. I suppose this is a precursor to one of my first blog posts almost 2 years ago (been THAT long?).

I must've posted this story a million times on this site beause I always felt that the story was relevant as a background to whatever ...
