My God... this is the most soothing, calming scent I have ever known, and perhaps will ever know... I haven't worn it all summer, but this evening I was in need of some tranquillity, so I sprayed it on after my shower. I suppose it should come as no surprise to anybody that Dior Homme, the fragrance created for Hedi Slimane by Olivier Polge in 2005, has many of the markings of a feminine. As I noted in my previous blog entry, it's powdery, floral, and fruity, and makes use of iris - very unusual for a men's scent. But given Slimane's penchant for gender-bending and androgyny, which I'm sure anyone who follows fashion is dreadfully tired of hearing about by now, it's a fragrance that fits the image of the line
