Red's Lumberyard

Redneck Perfumisto, a.k.a. Red or RP, is a certified woodaholic who was born in Kansas and never quite left. The Lumberyard, located in a small town with one stoplight and memories of a train station, brings together a group of strange characters who share Red's passion for all things fragrant. Sharing as well the internet connection in the lumberyard laboratory, you never know who's going to post something. At least, that's Red's excuse whenever law enforcement stops by for coffee and explanations.

Truly, my friends, there is nothing that I will not do in pursuit of the beauty of fragrance. As proof of this fact, I offer you yesterday's glorious adventure in fragrance appreciation, if not also a misadventure in fragrance application.

    BACKGROUND:

Having sampled Bleu de Chanel in stores - about a dozen times or so - I had been left in the curious ...

    Good Morning!

I'll make this my shortest blog post ever - and also the longest.

It was too big to put here (twice Grant's limit), so I had to put it on my other blog.

I refer to every brief, although ...

    ¡Revolución de las Fragancias!

Old revolutionaries never die. They are just reborn as new ones.

This communiqué was intercepted recently in wardrobe-space. Rest assured that it is being investigated as we speak, and that the subversive perpetrators shall be brought to justice!

    Oriental Lounge: My Timeless Amber

Every once in a while, I simply have to do a straight review. I don't like it. I'd much rather write those quasi-semi-pseudo-literary reviews that just plain annoy the hell out of some people. But sometimes I stumble onto something really, really good, and the word must go out. Besides - I have all winter to work on "Hot ...

  5. A Perfumed Last Will and Testament

A Perfumed Last Will and Testament

They say that one should never wear perfume to a funeral. Although not wearing a scent does seem like a safe bet, it isn't always the best one. As noted by several of my fellow perfumistas and colognoisseurs, there are funereal occasions - if only a few - when it makes sense to say something with fragrance. Wearing a relative's favorite scent, or an old friend's signature perfume, on their day of final rest, seems incredibly touching to me. Who could ...
