This blog depicts my interpretation of a chosen scent. I write a description and then list the notes and illustrate with a painting or photograph.

    A warm amber-based fragrance

    Warm, edible scent is timeless
    and comforting.
    Clouds roll by. I close my eyes and
    remember beautiful creatures I've never seen.

    Created in 1987.
    Top notes of bergamot, violet leaf, carnation and myrrh.

    Somewhat dry, this scent echos its namesake in Italy.
    I imagine it to be sunny, warm and mellow,
    although I have never been;
    cool in the dusty shadows.

    Like a sumptuous tapestry, the perfume unfolds.
    The scent of the rose is slowly revealed
    from the depths of many colors.
    Pepper and coriander, peony and currant buds;

    as in the name of the painting here.

    Autumn creeps ever closer.
    The nights are blissfully cool and a warm scent
    cheers the skin with rich, tasty tones.

    to the warmth of the oriental bloom of spices here.
