  1. Andron has been resurrected!

I gave up on finding my favorite 80s fragrances years ago, but a recent blind buy has returned Andron to me. I hope others who loved it get to use it again.
I purchased a bottle of Charm Fresh Breeze Aroma by Bioaqua on Amazon, and have been transported to 1982, just like Uncle Rico!

  2. Are these 80s masterpieces to be found in a modern scent?

There are a plethora of 80s fragrances, long discontinued, that I wold love to find again. My hope is that the basenotes alumni will know modern fragrances that may closely resemble some of these cherished scents of my youth. 3. More Affordable versions of upmarket fragrances

Over the past 3-4 years, my project of sampling the world of cheap colognes for quality has resulted in finding several that are nearly identical to popular and more expensive fragrances. I thought I might share some of these findings with the BN community:

Thallium Sport is identical to Happy by Clinique
AB Spirit Millionaire is very similar to Azzaro 1 Million (no surprise there)
Lomani is very similar to Drakkar ...
  4. the Heartbreak of Discontinued Fragrances

It must be admitted that a large portion of my fragrance hobby is an attempt to find scents that are attached to the most powerful moments and moods of my youth. I found this Andy Warhol comment on Scentbird's website regarding the experience of perfume:

"I switch perfumes all the time. If I've been wearing one perfume for three months, I force myself to give it up, even if I still feel like wearing it, so whenever I smell it again it will always remind me of those three months. ...
  5. Yacht Man Metal

In my Yacht Man reviews, Metal is up next, This is a very brave and potent woody citrus. Initially, it reminded me of the original formulation (1980s) of Chanel's Antaeus, but now I realize that it is almost identical to Allure Sport Homme. This may have been intended since they both arrive in metal flasks. The white musk is sweet and warm and it stays beneath a well-rounded, hearty center of citrus, cedar, and pepper, with a finish of a soft aquatic layer softly placed across the top of the whole ...
