  1. Been a While... Roundup!

So I recently spend a week in Paris and visiting the Guerlain flag ship on Champs Elysees was definitely in the top 5 best moments. During that trip I bought quite impulsively and without testing Hermes Eau de Mervielles and Tiare Mimosa... haven't really road tested either yet but a random spritz of the AA has me thinking it lovely and wearable but a full bottle might not have been necessary. More to come on those...

Not sure if its the change in seasons but I find myself searching ...
  2. Necessity is the mother of invention...

Given my very limited budget and small collection, when I get the urge for a new or very particular scent there are few options.

Today, I wanted something spicy and warm of which there are probably thousands but none of which have entered my personal supply. So, thinking that I love the warmth of Hypnotic Poison (perfume, splash bottle) and the rubber tang of Bvlgari Black I've decided to layer them.

  3. My First Perfume Love - Revisited

In honour of a Valentines Day which has found me, a-typically though quite thuroughly, broken (heart, health, hearing - its really been a rough 24 hrs ) I decided to try and lift myself by painting my nails blood red:

  4. Way to Ruin It...

I know all the reasons that it's the jus that matters and not the bottle, but there is something horrible about spending the kind of money (from my measly grad student budget) that most decent perfumes cost, only to have it come in a hideous bottle. Really $89 of designer glass in pretty colours belaboured over by artists and I'd rather empty the stuff into a plain refiller bottle...

The latest in a string being Mugler - Pure Havane. I love their perfumes but all the bottles are just ...

  5. My First Perfume Love

I was only 17 when I first smelled Kingdom by Alexander McQueen. I fell into absolute rapture. I finally got my hands on a bottle and quite a few people told me how absolutely horrid it was so I stopped wearing it. Having recently found my old bottle and decided that it is in fact WONDERFUL, I'm going to use it as a starting point.

When I first spritz, I get a really heady sparkly orange scent. Its vaguely green in a way I can't name but shockingly fresh, in that it's not linen and ...
