A good summary intended for kidsFebruary 7, 2007 Amazon Addict(Gaithersburg, MD USA) This book is a good summary of Estee Lauder's life and accomplishments. It is written for kids (as evidenced by the subtitle "Book Report Biographies"), so the content is accordingly light. My 9-year-old daughter found this book quite useful for a book report in 4th grade. I'm sure that an adult who is in the industry (as a previous reviewer was) would not find this to be a suitable biography of Estee Lauder. But I have to wonder about an adult that would select this particular book anyway and expect much more from it than it delivers. It's not intended for business-oriented adults. It's for kids who need to write book reports.
Estee Lauder: Beauty Business SuccessMarch 18, 2001 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
Take it from a beauty business executive who emerses himself in the industry--this book offers little that other books about Estee Lauder have not already coughed-up. The author seems to have read other bios (authorized and not) that are available to the general public. If you want to learn more about Estee Lauder, or any other of the dynamic companies that reside in the beauty kingdom, find others books and scour the business publications (i.e., Forbes, Fortune, WSJ, etc.). The author seems to be awed by Mrs. Lauder--not a good position to write from. Not receommended reading!
