- Sanofi Beaute was founded in 1973 and was the beauty division of pharmacutical giant, Sanofi. Sanofi itself was owned by oil group, Elf Aquitaine. In 2000, Sanofi Beauté was sold to Gucci Group and renamed YSL Beauté.
