• Kenneth Green honoured by Fragrance Foundation

On Wednesday 25th November 2009, The Fragrance Foundation UK honoured Kenneth Green as member of the UK ‘Circle of Champions’ at a celebration lunch held at London’s Home House. The Circle of Champions is an initiative set up by The Fragrance Foundation to pay tribute to those individuals who have made a notable and newsworthy contribution to the fragrance industry. This is only the third year that the accolade has been awarded in the UK, with Sir Paul Smith and Dame Vivienne Westwood being the previous recipients.

Peter Norman, Chairman of Fragrance Foundation UK said “I am delighted that Kenneth has accepted our invitation. He is one of the most successful and respected members of our industry, a true fragrance champion”.

Kenneth began his career with Charles of the Ritz building his experience with Companies such as Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. Kenneth Green Associates was formed in 1990 and the company, which looks forward to celebrating 20 years in the industry next year, is entirely owned by the Green family. The company is now not only one of the largest specialist luxury fragrance and skincare distributors in the world, but also one of the most respected.

It all began with the introduction of Escada in Harrods, a launch which still remains one of the retailer’s biggest ever fragrance launches. The Industry closely watched his success, and soon Kenneth was approached by Beaute Prestige International to distribute a number of leading brands which now include Parfums Issey Miyake as well as Jean Paul Gaultier and Narciso Rodriguez. Ever since, the brands keep rolling in, and the Company now represents twenty principal companies (in the UK) with an range of prestige brands; among them Kenzo, Hermes, Paul Smith, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bvlgari and La Prairie as well as more niche fragrances such as Annick Goutal and Serge Lutens.

Nicholas Coleridge of Conde Nast made a most insightful speech at the awards luncheon which quoted Stephen Quinn of Conde Nast as saying that Kenneth is ‘one of the few highly visible entrepreneurs in the cosmetics business’ and Simon Kippin said “He gets results by charm, stealth and knowledge”.

Upon acceptance of this prestige award Kenneth said, “I am very proud to accept this honour on behalf of the company and the team”.
