• IFRA tell 'The Story of Fragrance' in new video

International Fragrance Association of North America (IFRANA) today released "The Story of Fragrances," a documentary that gives an inside look at the fragrance industry and the science behind some of the world's most well-known perfumes. The film features perfumers, including Carlos Benaim and Christophe Laudamiel (pictured).

"This documentary will open people's eyes to the science and artistry behind the fragrances we all use and love," said Jennifer Abril, president of IFRANA. "This film clears up any misperceptions about the industry by showing that safety, precaution, and precision are essential when crafting fragrances. 'The Story of Fragrances' demonstrates that consumer safety is the number one goal of the industry."

"The Story of Fragrances" can be viewed below, and on IFRANA's YouTube channel.

Its OK, you don't need to watch. I'll summarise:
      The story of fragrances:

...good fragrances.......IFRA........bad fragrances all made but a few companies from their own ingredients. The end.

Oh brother, that's what I was afraid of.

"Let me assure you that we're doing our very best to prevent the words "evil", "danger" and "toxic" from popping into your mind whenever you think of perfume."

Kind of reminds me of that old joke : "Try not to think of a polar bear."

I thought the goal of the perfume industry was to sell fragrances? Silly me.

'The Story of Fragrances' demonstrates that consumer safety is the number one goal of the industry." If safety is the fragrance industry's number one goal, why doesn't it abandon the notion of creating art and go fight terrorism?

Overpaid beaurocrats look bad when they are bored, so they have to justify their wages by making it hard for others to get anything done. This doesn't just happen in fragrance

This video was very interesting. I'm surprised that it's receiving the backlash.
