• His Shirt

His white cotton dress shirt was pressed and fresh Friday morning. By Saturday afternoon it held the base notes from his and her fragrances along with the musk of his and her skin.

It's his shirt, but she took it off him. It's his shirt, but she likes to wear it when when it smells of him.

His Shirt should get most of its character from some (not necessarily all) base notes common to both male and female fragrances: amber, leather, sandalwood, patchouli, tonka bean, balsam, benzoin, leather or oakmoss.

    Products to reference:

The dried-sweat-on-skin-salt in The Different Company's Sel de Vetiver: grapefruit, patchouli, cardamom, geranium, Haitian vetiver, iris, ylang ylang.

Earth Bar, a soap unlike any other I have smelled, available only from bodyscentsations.com - Description: This bar is ultra moisturizing with exfoliating black tea leaves and rich hemp seed oil. Essential oils of lavender, cedarwood and patchouli are added along with sweet almond oil.

An interesting take on soap--clean AND dirty Since the clean and soapy theme has been densely populated by smellalikes, it sure would be great to have something like His Shirt to break up the blinding white monotony.

I wish I knew what Earth Bar smelled like.

I heard that the notes for Richard James EDT included "white shirt accord."

Interesting, now that I think about the "clean shirt" versus "worn shirt". In some ways, the clean shirt accord is basically new car smell for guys. I love it, personally - nothing like putting on a store-fresh shirt to me. But Sel de Vétiver, as Quarry knows more than anybody, is a fave of mine. This could be extremely interesting to me, if that "good body smell" is close to SdV, and the whole thing doesn't get too gamey. But "manly" smells are dangerous territory, and I must be honest and say that I want to sniff before buying. Purses are almost always nice. Guy's shirts..... Yeah. Care is needed.

This brief is extremely romantic. Lovely work, Quarry.

It does sound romantic! I am in agreement with Asha, I am terribly bored of the 'clean shirt' smells, though they were a revelation at first. I think a 'worn shirt' smell could be killer; provided it's the smell of being worn, and not of being WORN (no gym shirts, please). This could be a supremely sexy unisex fragrance.
