#10 Nobile by Gucci (1988)
Who gave birth to it?
Nobile was introduced in September 1988 by the then license-holder of Gucci
What did it smell like?
Gucci Nobile had top notes of bergamot, lemon, lavender, rosemary, tarragon and mace; middle notes of jasmine, green notes, rose, cyclamen, carnation, geranium and fir; and base notes of cedar, patchouli, sandal, tonka, musk, moss, vetiver and amber.
When did it die and who killed it?
We think Gucci Nobile was discontinued around 1999. Michael Edwards doesn't list this as discontinued until the 2000 edition of Fragrances of the World, and trade publication WWD mentions strong sales for the fragrance in an article from 1999.
By this point, the Gucci license was held by Wella
, who bought 4711 in 1994.

"Beautiful Italian expression of sweet green soapy manliness." – AndrewTheCologneGuy

Can you still buy it?
There's quite a bit of Gucci Nobile knocking about on eBay
. Expect to pay around $80 - $100 depending on size
