• Beyoncé’s debut fragrance - Heat - launches next month

Beyoncé Heat, the singer/actress’ first fragrance is due to be released in April of this year. It is said to be a floral, fruity, woody perfume featuring rare, sensual flowers, created by Claude Dir & Olivier Gillotin from Givaudan.

Opening with top floral notes of vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and a hint of blush peach, the heart is a blend of honeysuckle nectar, almond macaroon and crème de musk. The base consists of warm giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber.
The fragrance will be presented in a flacon with a red gradient effect said to give the impression of a fire burning within.

Jake Nave, director of several of Beyoncé’s music videos, included ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Beautiful Liar’ has directed the sensual televised advertising campaign

Beyoncé Heat will be available in a 50ml and 100ml eau de parfum.

I hear you, Giustino - but be encouraged by the following. These are the perfumers who created Dirty English (Dir) and Cereus Pour Homme no.7 (Gillotin). Both extremely respectable scents, IMO. From the concept alone, I expect this one to lean toward being more substantial, so there is some chance this one will live up to the name (without being Joop!). I'm hoping for the best on this fragrance. (Nice bottle, too.)

It's not about the perfume itself. Beyonce will get the money for doing actually nothing.. It's just her name wich means $_$

I think what bothers me are celebrity fragrances that slack off on the juice while riding on that somebody's celebrity alone. Too many of those - enough that they've tainted the whole genre. I'd like to see more fragrance where the actual perfume is so good I have to buy it, but I'm ashamed to admit what it is.

Well, I got to sniff this today, and I was actually rather pleased with it. I think they did some very interesting things to achieve a "hot" feel which is NOT tied to the same old spicy and cinnamon tricks which I had feared. The heat seems to come from a sharp but not-too-loud aromatic herbal note, a bit like Un Parfum de Charmes et Feuilles, thus giving it a simultaneously hot and cool feel. Nice. A bit of floral candyfloss, but not too much - well balanced with the herbal and aromatic notes. Respect to the perfumers on this one. I was walking around Macy's sniffing the card for an hour while my wife shopped.

Yeah, on principle I don't really support celebrity fragrances, simply because I feel it's a bit cheap, or as others have said, just a name on a bottle...and less about the fragrance.

However, I was testing different fragrances today, and apart from DKNY Night, Heat was my favourite for summer evenings - I was begrudgingly surprised!

I think I might even get it, if I do I'll write a review on my blog, Little Luxe
