• Stella relaunches today – new packaging, the fragrance is "fundamentally the same"

(Re)-launching today is Stella McCartney's 2003 fragrance, Stella. The scent was originally developed by perfumer Jacques Cavellier with YSL Beauté, but the fragrance license was taken over by P&G Prestige last year. According to WWD, the packaging has been updated, the fragrance is "fundamentally the same". (Make of that what you will.)

The new advertising campaign features model, Lara Stone, and was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

A short promo film has also been made featuring Stone pretending to eat a bottle of perfume.

The fragrance contains notes of mandarin, rose, peony, rose absolute and woody ambers

As well as picking up the Stella McCartney fragrance license last year, Procter & Gamble also picked up previous YSL stablemate, Alexander McQueen. Will we see a return of Kingdom?*

    *probably not.

I loved Stella when it first came out. It appears that P&G really goes against the original ethos of the Stella brand, which was cruelty-free. P&G is known well for its animal testing of toiletries.

At least her accessory line is still cruelty-free and I hope it stays that way.
