Basenotes has teamed up with
Olfactory Events to run a series of perfume events. Nick Gilbert features in the first event, which takes place in London in two weeks time. Gilbert has been on the fragrance scene for more than a decade. Many of you will know Nick as a writer on Basenotes.net (or from the forums as gblue), he also started a twitter account: @fragrantreviews which reviews perfume in 140 characters or less on a daily basis.
Nick started his career selling fine fragrance at Boots for 10 years and was then poached to come and work at Les Senteurs, one of London's finest perfume shops. Not only does he have an encyclopeadic knowledge of perfume, he also happens to have what we think is a great collection of fragrance. With the help of Olfactory Events' founder, Lila Das Gupta, Nick is going to take you on an olfactory journey through his collection to show you how one's nose develops over time. At the end there will be the chance to have a sample of some of the things we have been smelling.
This event takes place at 7.00 for 7.30pm start and costs £10. More details can be found on the
Perfume Lovers London meetup page. (you need to join to view the event details)
