Thanks for the quick reply! I guess our skin chemistry must be very different then, because Cinnabar was extremely potent on me (1 spray gave ample projection and 16+ hours longevity) and JHL seemed more reserved-- it smelled sort of like Cinnabar without the orange sherbet and hefty amber but more animalic and calm. Guess I'll have to amp up the dosage or just reapply to get the longevity of a feminine with the reserved qualities of a masculine. Funny how that works...
Thanks a ton!
Hello and thank you.
That review is of the relaunched version. I think there are very slight differences between the old and new and I actually like the relaunch a little better than what's left of my old bottle. It's funny that you said that about Cinnabar, because I have the opposite experience. In the old days when JHL was so expensive, I bought Cinnabar to use but it wouldn't last more than 2 hours on my skin. This relaunched JHL lasts 5 or 6 hours on me and that is very good for my dry skin. Opium lasts beautifully but Opium PH (recently purchased) doesn't last very well for me. There's not much out there that's better than Coco.
I was just reading your lovely review of JHL and I was curious-- are you reviewing the relaunch in the aramis gentleman's collection or the older version? Because I don't find JHL to be very long-lived in comparison to most other fragrances of its class (Cinnabar, Opium, Coco, etc.) or even at all, it seems to be 6 hours max on me. Thanks!
Definitely will have to seek those out, thanks a bunch!
Sorry to be so late in answering. I've been having internet trouble the past few weeks.
Thanks for the compliment... I appreciate it.
My favorite Eau de Cologne is Acqua d Parma Colonia, but since I have run out of it, I've been curiously satisfied with Extra Vieille by Roger and Gallet.
I'm also very fond of Vettiveru by Comme des Garcons.
You and luca turin are basically the people that constantly give me accurate and trustworthy opinions about fragrances. Please never stop reviewing!!! While I'm bothering posting this...what is your favorite eau de cologne style scent? Thanks!!
