Conversation Between Viking and foetidus

  1. Sorry I didn't get back to you before - I forgot and I haven't been in my information area for quite a while. I've been very busy at work..

I don't have a current favorites list and it would take a tremendous amount of time to work one up. I can tell you my favorite rose scent -- I just discovered it a few days ago it is Eau d’Italy's Paestum Rose.

The same, too, for my favorite patchouli scent Mazzolari Patchouli.

For sandalwoods I like Santal Nobile by MPG the best.

For greens it's a three way tie among Gucci Nobile; Miller et Bertaux's Green Green Green & Green; and Lorenzo Villoresi's Yerbamate

Incense: Heeley's Cardinal and Etro's Messe de Minuit and Creed's Angelique Encens

    Very Dry: Diptyque's Eau Lente

Favorite Eau (I haven't tried many yet) Roger & Gallet Extra Vieille

Favorite Citrus: Probably Eau de Rochas - either the men's or the women's

    Favorite category: Chypre

Favorite Chypre DK Men, Aramis, Havana and almost any one of the woman's '80s civet laden chypre

    Favorite '80s Caron's Third Man and Aramis's Aramis 900

    Favorite conifer Blenheim's Bouquet

Favorite Spice Malle's Noir Epices and Sheseido's Basala

Favorite Amber MPG's Ambre Precieux or Montale's Blue Amber

    Favorite Cheapie: Carven Homme

Favorite Vetiver Mazzolari Vetiver or MPG's Route du Vetiver

That's all I can think of right now.

Hope it helps, and, again, I'm sorry to be so late.

  2. Dear Foetidus,
Thank you for your many reviews. I have read in some of them that you allude to your personal lists of fragrances you like. i.e. top sandalwoods etc ... Could you make available your "top ten" lists? I value your opinion. Thanks.
