Well soon I will be back in college and will get $1200 in extra grant money because I'm so damn smartAnd of course I don't intend on going too crazy but I will allot a set amount. Luckily I haven't found too many new "need to have" fragrances and that's when I had a sort of epiphany. I knew I wanted to get 212 White for Men because I liked the original (of which I intended to purchase) and this sounded like an interesting flanker, L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme because ever since Red gave me a sample I couldn't shake how much it smelled like hot cocoa. How much more comforting can you get? Imagine wearing this on a date with your lady friend involving a long night and a fireplace! Yeah you know what I'm talkin' bout friends. And I also intend on getting Dior Homme Intense. Then I was wondering about D&G's The One. Now, I do enjoy it.. but how much?
I think that's one issue for an up and coming scentoholic; we tend to jump the gun and purchase scents we don't REALLY enjoy. We think they smell different and maybe original.. but it's very hard to know in a month or two of using it that it won't get old and end up collecting dust. You can always sell it but there's no fun in that sort of hassle. So I've decided, instead, to get a fragrance I enjoy but I'm somewhat confused on whether I like it or not. This may sound risky but ALL of my favorite fragrances were purchased after I had this dilemma. It's one of those situations where after you smell a fragrance you think you like, it can be enjoyable but it's a relatively quick moment of fleeting enjoyment. However if it's a fragrance you can't figure out no matter how many times you wear it, THAT'S a scent I'll reach for. It would always be like a new experience. Almost like a movie with no real plot and every time you watch it you get a different perspective or notice something new.
This is why I'm deciding on Encre Noire. My sleek friend in a luxurious black bottle. May it supply me with months and months of enjoyment and eye candy (that bottle is unbelievable). When I smell it I just think of darkness and a sort of dreamy field. It's beautiful and so damn mysterious. I love it. That's what I really want from a fragrance; imagery and an experience. Smelling "good" is well and fine but I'm in it for more than that friends!
Though D&G isn't completely ruled out.. it's just been pushed further down the list![]()
