My new wafting world

Rate this Entry
Over the years I have lovingly embraced my desire to sleep by arranging my nocturnal netherworld into the purest form of pleasure possible. The magic ritual for me is before retiring, I spray both R&L sides of my mattress (close to where my face is) with Penhaligon's Opus 1870, then rub in some Segreli di Terre Lontane "Mirra & Mirra" lotion on the top & bottom of my pillow, and finally, I spray Monocle Scent One: Hinoki on both sides of my pillow, and liberally mist along the top edge of my cover blanket with Susanne Lang's Tamboti Wood.
And as I begin get comfortable I begin reading something intriguing, as the scents morph through their wonderful stages just in time to drift me into a most sublime slumber.

And when I wake up in the morning I put my hands behind my head, and I think of all the good things that I've done and that I've said. I step outside into this wild world that is big and half insane, and I do my best in every way to ease everybody's pain: 'Cause I Love Everybody,
And I Love everything.
I Love everybody,
I Love you.

Cool idea. do you choose your scents because they relax you or just because you enjoy them? And, if you wake up during the night, how much smell is left?

Thanks. I like the woody scents right now for both relaxing & the enjoyment.

I find most fragrances become neutral after the initial few minute pleasure. If I leave my bedroom for a while, upon returning the fragrance will still be there for me to re-experience. Sometimes I'll apply another application - especially of the Tamboti Wood since it isn't that long lasting.
