Rose Notes: Part 1

Rate this Entry
I am participating in 30Roses sample program for roses. So, I am making notes for myself in case I feel a need to review scents.

Tea Rose: My standard is Fleur de The Rose Bulgare by Creed. Mainly because it is the oldest tea rose perfume in the collection. I already had a sample of this one in my collection.

Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose: This one is a bit spicier than the Creed. I could tell it was from the 70's without looking at the date. It has a "potpourri" note that dates it for me. Not sure if this is good or not.

Michel Germain Sexual: I like this one. I do think that it is mis-named though, it is sexy, but not too much IMHO. I also hadn't heard of it before it showed up on my door step.

Crabtree & Evelyn Evelyn: Really nice rose, might have to sample again to get more impressions from it though.

Jean Couturier Coriandre: I keep thinking that I have tried this before. The coriander note is different, I think I like it, but probably won't be able to get a vintage bottle. Drydown seemed really clean.

I took mini-sniffs of Lierre Rose (lots of Jasmine too I think) and Cannabis Rose (more patchouli than cannabis), am going to have to pick up the pace to get these all sampled within 4 weeks!

Regarding Coriandre, it has been badly reformulated, but the original formulation bottles are still available online and in some B&M stores (try fragrance kiosks at the mall, for example; that is where I got my bottle.) Look for the 1.1 oz cylindrical bottles.
