I have two only -- Patchouli Patch (L'Artisan), which I ADORE, and Angel. These may reveal that I am not a complete patchoulist! (new word) -- For me patchouli must be rounded and softened.

This thread called out to me: I am a total patchouli-obsessive. My top three are firm choices, the fourth is variable depending on the day! Here they are:
    1. Santa Maria Novella, Patchouli: absolute holy grail! Pristine patchouli nirvana.
    2. Lorenzo Villoresi, Patchouli: holy grail one tiny degree below SMN. Patchouli nirvana plus mellow musk.
    3. L'artisan, Patchouli: original from 1979, not Patchouli Patch. Pure patchouli fragrance.
    4. Nobile 1942, Patchouli Nobile: patchouli moderated with amber for wear at office.

Different ways of smelling patchouli, for sure! Not saying they're the best, but for certain they are good,
Chanel Allure Sensuelle (original version), Gentleman Givenchy (original version), TM's Angel (original version, but others as well) and Eau de Star, Borneo 1834 by S.Lutens, JHG Lady of V. I like sometimes to smell "clean", sometimes called "safe" patchouli, like in Elie Saab's Le Parfum or Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel House.
