A box of Provence, France

My wife supports my hobby/passion for fragrance, and she wants to purchase a cologne from Creed for me as a birthday and a wedding anniversary gift. I declined, knowing fully that I could get a bottle of Creed for a cheaper price. Besides, I do not really want her to spend that much for a gift.
So I just let her know about Eau De Baux Pour Homme by L'Occitane -- a nice, quality fragrance that doesn't slash a wallet thin -- when she asked me what I want for my special day.
A few days after, a huge box from L'Occitane arrived in front of our door.
Wow, L'Occitane ships fast, and they packed the bottle securely! However, this box is insanely big for a bottle Eau De Baux, I thought. I started opening the box....
Wrapped in green bubble wrap is the content: an Eau De Baux stick deodorant, and a shower gel. No cologne? Did my wife make a mistake?
Upon further inspection, I realized there was something else at the bottom. I removed the first layer of the wrapping and saw another box, with a picture of flowery fields, with a path leading to a tree full of leaves, under the clear blue skies. It reminds me of summer and spring, of nature.
It is beautiful. (Does Provence, France really look like this?)
I smiled. There was no mistake here, evidently. Inside this gorgeous box, I knew, is the sweet juice in amber glass that I've been wanting to own. I removed the rubber string and opened the box....
The box contains Eau de Baux Pour Homme EDT, Eau de Baux aftershave balm, and an envelope of skincare packs .....
Pictured below is everything all together.

In to my drawer goes the cologne, somewhere in the middle of my 30-something bottles. The deodorant was kept in my toiletries bag, with other stick deos.
And then the L'Occitane card captured my attention; it has something inside. How come I didn't realize that before?
A short message from my wife was in the card when I opened it.
The message was simple, but it means a lot. It starts with a birthday greeting and a wedding anniversary greeting. It also says she loves and misses me, and she hopes we see each other soon.
If you're wondering why, that's because my wife and I are oceans apart.
Thank you for the wonderful gift, Andrea. It's way more than I expected. Maybe someday we'll find ourselves walking together along the paths of the Provence fields.
I stowed the card inside the box and closed the lid. I put the gift box on the shelf where I can always see it -- the artwork on the cover: lavender fields covered with purple flowers and a path to the tree with bountiful leaves under the blue skies. It reminds me of summer, of spring, of nature.
It is beautiful.
If you've made it this far without complaining about the length of this post or about my hideous bed sheet in the background, thank you.
