One Day Perfume Course London 29th April

26th February, 2012

This one day Perfume Course, at intermediate level, is designed for anyone who already knows their way round the basics of fragrance, but would like to know more about the building blocks of how perfumes are made.

Karen Gilbert is a former evaluator with IFF (International Flavors and Fragrances). The job of an evaluator is to act a kind of ‘middle-man’ between perfumers and those who commission fragrances.

Her vast knowledge of both natural ingredients and man-made aroma chemicals, as well as her engaging teaching style, make this a unique opportunity to familiarise yourself with the major notes and accords in perfume, as well as gain valuable experience in the art of perfume making. No blending experience is necessary, but you should be familiar with the basics of fragrance families, top notes, middle notes, base notes etc.

This course is also suitable as a follow-on for anyone who has been on Karen’s Natural Perfumery Course and would now like to incorporate the use of synthetic odour molecules.

The course runs from 10am till 5pm and takes place at The New Cavendish Club near Marble Arch. Tea and coffee is provided in the morning and afternoon, for lunch there are cafes (including Pret and Cafe Valerie) close by. All the course materials will be provided and you will get to take home a bottle of the fragrance you have made. The cost of the course is £150.

This course is being laid on especially for Perfume Lovers London (you must be a member or join the group to attend). Please pay on Karen Gilbert's web-site.

Please e-mail Lila at Olfactory Events, or Karen for further information.

We look forward to seeing you there.
