Musc Ravageur by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
I spent 4 weeks researching on perfume and its response in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found Musc Ravageur.
This perfume has quite a twist on my experience. After reading some review and description on the catalog, I believed that this was the one.
Then, when I went to the shop and try it, it didn't smell anything like what I expected.
I expected it to be quite old-fashioned, strong, seductive, sensual, sweet, intense for that 'naughty' effect. However, it is quite light even though it surely deep and dark. At the beginning, I think this is not sweet enough for me. It's like lady in sin city who kill her husband with a gun while what I am looking for is a lady who kill her husband with a dagger, poison ivy, a honey trap.
Then I went to Amouage at Harrods and been exposed to Gold. Then I discovered that Musk is truly associated with the 'naugty' effect I am yearning for.
Then it made me turn back to my sample pack of Musc Ravageur again. Oh my, this is it. Strangely when I looked at the ingredients, there is no musk there at all.
However, I haven't bought it yet as I would like to compare it with Musc Kloubai Kahn from Serge Lutens. Lets see who will win my heart for this 'naughty'ness effect I am yearning for.

Carnal Flower by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
I spent 4 weeks researching on perfume and its response in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found Carnal Flower.
It is the queen of all flowers. Very rich, and floral. Beautiful pleasant scent. Even though it is not quite what I prefer as I am looking for something 'naughty'.
However, Carnal Flower is so angelic and clean.
Though I must admit that sometime the scent remind me of some low cost synthetic smell of bouquet but surely with 98 pounds a bottle it should filled with rare expensive natural ingredients.

Rumba by Balenciaga
I spent 4 weeks researching on perfume and its response in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found Rumba.
I am not too sure whether I like this one or not. The scent I like are rich, strong, fruity, floral, with a deep dark twisted base.
Rumba has lots of ingredients associated to my like.
When I first put it on, it's kind of old fashioned. Like what a mature lady would put on at the Opera house. Full of fun floral scent.
Then it gets lighter which is quite pleasent. However, it can get quite powdery which I am not fond off.
However I bought it because it's the last bottle at Harrods and the sale assistant said the distrubitor has stopped stocking this product. Maybe one day the scent of Rumba will grow on me.

Opium pour Homme Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent
I spent 4 weeks researching on perfume and its response in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found this love: Opium for men (Parfum).
It is rich, sensual, seductive, strong, dark yet sweet and appealing and addictive. The name says it all.
I was amazed how my taste has changed. Couple years ago, I prefer fragrance which is quite light, crisp, fruity and fresh. Now, I favour rich, strong, old fashioned, deep, dark, sensual, seductive scent.
Eau de Parfum does smell different and much stronger than EDT version. and Women Opium do smell different also.
Opium pour HOmme EDP is a rich scent containing lots of spice with a hint of sweetness. It can be a bit heady for light hearted snifter but if your main objective is seducing and make him/her addicted to you and never leave the door, this could be the mysterious tool.

Voleur de Roses by L'Artisan Parfumeur
I spent 4 weeks researching on perfume and its response in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found my second love: Voleur de Roses.
One of my French friend who work in a perfumeur house in Paris introduced me to L'Artisan. Then on one Sunday afternoon, I went to L'Artisan shop on Marylbone High Street to check out his recommendation which is Dzing, Piment Brulent, and Boi Farine. However, I didn't like it as what I am looking for is a honey trap: a sweet sensual sense with a deep dark twist.
Before I left, the sale assistant ask me to try Voleur de Roses as it is a best selling there which was created for men but women do prefer it as well.
I put it on my skin, oh my, I cannot stop smelling my hand for about 6 hours.
Voleur de Roses is very sweet of roses corrupted with a dark twist of pachouli. I consider it as fresh. Though fresh here has nothing to do with mint/green/ or citrusy. Some reviewer related it with the soil in the garden after the rain.
It is sweet but with melancholic atmosphere around it.
Personally I think it is suitable to put on a wet rainy grey day especially in London. Sweet, sensual yet grey and unique. Highly recommended.

Cèdre by Serge Lutens Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido
I was spending 4 weeks doing research on perfume and its responses in order to find my holy grail. Along the way, I found this first love: Cedre. It answered all of my criteria: sweet, rich, strong, deep and dark. What I was looking for is a honey trap. Art of seduction and never let go of the grip.
At first, when I tried it on a card, I didn't like it. But when I put on my skin, oh my, it suited perfectly. I come from South East Asia with a natural honey tanned complexion. Cedre goes well with that. It make me smell and feel juicy and one of my secret lover cannot have enough of it (me).
The top and heart note last for about 4-6 hours. Then the juiciness is gone but the trail it leaves is quite mild and tender. However, I do prefer when it was juicy.
Ideally for someone who like very sweet, rich, strong, little bit old-fashioned scent but with a twist and a punch.
