Rochas Man by Rochas
This weekend I received this and Must Homme in a blind purchase. I could not be any happier with Rochas Man. I absolutely love it. It has bumped out another fragrance to enter my "top 5" list. I am a vanilla/gourmand/oriental nut anyway and I feel that this one is (thus far to me) one of the best of the catagory. Rochas man is very warm and inviting. The "lastability" seems to be pretty good too, but I am not sure about the sillage. I do, however, feel that this is a fragrance that will polarize people...you most likely either love it or hate it. If you tend to not like gourmands or vanilla scents you will most likely not like Rochas Man. Likewise if you often find fragrances to be too sweet for your liking. Rochas Man smells to me fairly similar to Hanae Mori H.M. but even better as it doesn't have that slight touch of orange or citrus that H.M. has. So, I would say that if you typically like only aquatic or green fragrances you probably won't like this, but if you like orientals especially gourmands or vanillas then you will more than likely really enjoy this one...I know I sure do.

Must de Cartier pour Homme by Cartier
This one was a blind purchase, as, by my circumstances, most of mine are. I don't regret the purchase at all. Basically, I think that it is a good fragrance and I love the bottle. But, I am not just crazy about the actual scent. There is no doubt to me that it is a very well put together fragrance, and I feel that with the right body chemistry it could be a very good scent. However, it just doesn't seem to mesh well with my body chemisrty and in general just doesn't seem very "me". Something in the top notes comes off very bitter on my skin, and is quite off putting to me. However, this does die down a bit after awhile and it becomes much warmer and more pleasing. But, that same note is still lingering there in the background...I wish I knew what it was...

Polo Black by Ralph Lauren
Not what I was expecting at all. Polo Black is not "bad" but it is not particularly good either. The lasting power is not very good either. I have only worn it a few times, so maybe I need to give it more of a chance.

Body Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent
Overall, I like Body Kouros. Perhaps not my favorite of the type but it is nice. I found BK to be a vanillic oriental with a fairly spicy nature. The longevity is excellent.

H.M. by Hanae Mori
On first application, I get more lemon smell, and even though I don't see it in the notes...it smells like some sort of melon is in there as well. However, after it has dried for awhile I start to pick up the vanilla more and that is when I really start to enjoy this one. Although it isn't my absolute favorite out of this type of scent, it is closer to the top than the bottom. I certainly like it better than A*men as I found that one to be too unpredictable to me.

Jaïpur Homme by Boucheron
I just can't seem to garner as much praise for this scent as some others. And I typically like this type of scent. It isn't bad. And I am basically glad that I got it...but it just wasn't what I expected. I was expecting something akin to Pi by Givenchy. This is VERY powdery on me. It smells sort of like a roll on deoderant. A NICE roll on deoderant mind you...but still. The lasting quality of it seems to be pretty good, however, as I put it on about 6 1/2 hours ago and it hasn't seemed to have worn off any.

Style In Play by Lacoste
Sorry, this is a first for me. I am reviewing a scent that I didn't acctually purchase. Although I like the brand, and I like the Lacoste "grey" I did not like this at all when I sampled it today. The only thing I could think of when it first hit my nose was "FRUIT!" Don't get me wrong, I like hints of fruit in my fragrances sometimes, but this one seemed to have little else. All in all I was quite dissappointed with Lacoste on this one. If this one is aimed at a younger market, I suppose I am just getting too long in the tooth to enjoy this type of scent. Hopefully my preferences won't change again in 3 years when I hit 25.

Pi by Givenchy
Picked this one up today at Macy's. Actually I accidentally sprayed myself with it, made a different purchase and went shopping for other things. About 30 minutes later I went back and bought this as well. Love the bottle. But more than that I love the scent. A fairly warm, semi-sweet fragrance. Someone on here described it as "rich and smooth" I certaily can see that as well. However, I can not see using this one as daily scent. I don't know how well it would work at the office or in warmer weather. Also, I don't even know about it at formal occasions. I see this as more of a "romantic" type of fragrance. I think it would certainly be good for dating during the winter months. Oh, and if you do try it on date...make sure you already know the girl because I feel there is no middle of the road for this scent...she will either love it or absolutely hate it. If you go easy on the spraying, I feel that she will most likely not hate it. So, all in all I very good, very unusual scent, but one that I feel is limited in its application purposes. Therefore, if you are looking for ONE scent to use all the time I would probably look further. But, if you collect (and if you do, how can you pass up the bottle anyway?) or if you have "specialized scents" then this one would make a nice addition.

Soul by Curve for Men by Liz Claiborne
Just purchased this today at the local Macy's. I have to say that I am fairly impressed. Nothing earth shattering, but overall a pleasurable experience. Let me also add that I am not crazy about the Curve line (or any of Claiborne's "youth" lines like Lucky, Candie's etc) and thankfully this one's name is not Crush Soul. I can simply tell people that ask that it is Soul by Claiborne or something. Anyway, this scent is sort of warm and exotic. Smells to me like a really fine tanning lotion, sort of like you just got back from a beach...but it is in no way a "blue" scent. A female friend of mine said that it smelled "like an expensive men's soap." (She liked it by the way.) The longevity of this scent seems to be pretty decent so far. I have had it on my wrists for several hours and it is holding up fine.

Dunhill Fresh by Alfred Dunhill
Again, I am a big dunhill fan so perhaps you should be warned about that from the start. I really, really like this scent though. Of the "newer" line of dunhill's it is probably my second favorite after dunhill (I think that is all it is called but the newer man's scent from 2003 at any rate). As gio said, dunhill fresh is exactly as the name implies it is very fresh and clean smelling. Almost crisp, if that makes any sense. And like all of dunhill's scents (to me anyway) it seems very sophisticated and not overpowering or anything like that. If applied properly it is hard for me to see this scent giving anyone a headache, but then everyone is different. This fragance is good for daytime wear and I would say mostly during warmer weather, though it could be used year around. I also really like the bottles that Fresh and dunhill come in. They are very classy looking and feeling. Big thumbs up here.

Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana
I agree completely with some of the previous reviewers, this sent has to be one that smells better on some than others. This is one that you should CERTAINLY try on your skin and wait around awhile before you decide to get it. I had been mulling this one over for awhile but I finally decided to give it a shot. On me, this fragrance is terrible, but I have no doubt that on some it works. On me it was way too sickly sweet...sort of reminded me of that generic smell a lot of hair salon's have. I like the bottle though, and love the box. So, try this one on your skin before you get it and if you can pull it off great. If you're like me and can't then you just saved yourself money for something that does work for you.

X-Centric by Alfred Dunhill
I will start off by saying that I am big fan of the dunhill line. This fragrance is no exception. However, it is not among my favorites of the brand. It IS a good scent though, just not as impressive as some of the others. I really like the topnotes, but I like the dry-down less. Upon dry-down it is very woodsy to me which is nice but not my favorite type of scent. The cedar note really rings through to me as it dries down. So, all in all a positive review, the fragance is worth a shot, but I won't say buy it blind. Walk don't run for this one.

Bulgari pour Homme by Bulgari
Bvlgari is indeed a very nice scent. It is vaguely sweet, sort of powdery. I have found that this scent lasts for a very long time on me. However, as previously stated by some, it stays VERY close to the skin. At times you might not even be able to smell it at all...but it is still there. I would say that this would be an excellent fragance for work as it is sophisticated, lasting, but not overpowering in any way.

Nautica Classic by Nautica
A pretty good, clean smelling fragance. I figured that it would be a really blue, cool smelling scent...and to some extent it is. However, it is warmer than I had imagined it being. This is not said to detract from it...it's just that it surprised me a little bit. I would say that this is a bit more of a summer fragance, but it could be pulled off year around.

Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche
Drakkar is, of course, a classic. This scent has been popular for years. And, unlike a lot of its contemporaries, Drakkar has aged well. This fragrance can still compete with a lot of the newer scents and can surpass a lot of them. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is the best out there now, as I feel that there are certainly better ones, but this one won't leave you feeling like an old man or a "has been" (Polo) like some of the scents its age.

Blu pour Homme by Bulgari
I tried this one recently at Macy's and I have to say that I liked it. Perhaps I am biased though as I like Bvlgari and "blue" scents in general. This is probably one of the better ones in both catagories though. One of the things I have noticed about Bvlgari is that even their more casual scents, such as this one, can be worn almost any time as they generally have a more refined edge to them than your run of the mill "casual" scent. This one, although a blue scent seems to have more "spice" to it than most blue scents do. Another good offering from Bvlgari.

Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein
Ahhh...I have a hard time deciding what to say about this one. I think that the scent is basically good...but I am just not that crazy about it. On me, it seems to sort of come and go...at times it is WAY to strong and sometimes I can hardly smell it (within the same application period). Also, even though I use very little of it, it seems to give me a slight headache. There are just a select few scents that do this to me and this one isn't as bad as some, but it does just the same. So, as some others have said, if you like it...go easy it can be pretty potent.

Hugo by Hugo Boss
I remember this one being very popular around the same time I was in junior high as Tommy, CK One and those. To me they all fit in the same catagory although they don't really smell alike. I see them as a younger scent for guys more in high school that sort of age. This one though is certainly better than some in that catagory (CK One). I recently bought a bottle of this again just to see how I liked it now. It was very strange, typically, I will either like something right away or not...but this one...I didn't like it at first but after a few days of wearing it, it began to grow on me. Although I usually don't like "green" scents (on me) this one is pretty good. There are certainly much better things out there now, even from the same designer, but all told, I would give this one a thumbs up.

Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger
All in all I like this scent. It is certainly not my favorite mind you, but it is pleasant enough. I think of it as sort of a fresh, out of the shower, type of scent. I remember this being very popular when I was in junior high, and several of my friends had it. Perhaps it is that, but this one seems a bit "young" for my liking now. It certainly wouldn't be the only fragrance I owned, but if you keep several bottles or collect I would say at least give this one a try.

Elements Aqua by Hugo Boss
I just got this fragrance here recently, and I must say that I really like it. The topnotes are excellent as are the base notes. On me, at first, it seemed to go away after just a few minutes, and I started to have my doubts. However, it seemed to come back to life (if that makes any sense) after a few more and I really started to enjoy it. On first application it seems very fresh and sort of light, but after dry-down it becomes very warm and deep. I would have to say that this is without a doubt my favorite Hugo Boss fragrance followed by Dark Blue. This one is going into my "regular use" stash.

Joop! Homme by Joop!
Ahhhh....Joop. What to say? If you have never tested it, I think that you should. It is like no other scent (male at any rate) that I have ever tried. When I was about 11 I remember really liking this. Apparently one's taste does get much better with age. I bought a small bottle of this just to at least give it a chance. I came very close to getting a headache, it is very powerful. It is also sickeningly sweet. To me, it smells like some sort of women's boutique where a bunch of cheap scents have mixed. That is just my take though. I will say that if you try putting a tiny...TINY amount on you it is much better than if you give the bottle a full pump- like I did when I first tried it. The smell bothered me all day, but after I went swimming I could barely smell it, but it smelled much better than before I went into the pool. So, I would recommend that you do at least try it in a store. IF you do decide on it...PLEASE for the rest of us be careful with not to overdo it.

Herrera Aqua by Carolina Herrera
Great new scent. My first experience with Carolina Herrera and I must say that I am pleased. I will have to check out more of her line. And I agree with a previous post, the bottle is very nice as well- a good compliment to a great fragrance.

Gucci pour Homme by Gucci
It has been said before and I will say it again on here PENCIL SHAVINGS!!!!! I am usually a very tolerant person when it comes to scents. I rarely find a fragrance that I absolutely do not like. However, I absolutely HATE this stuff. I got a sample of it when I bought something else. I got home and tried it on. It made me sick to my stomach. And you almost CAN'T wash it off! So, perhaps it does have a long life over the day. I just do not understand all of the postive reviews. Normally on here, I find myself defending a scent instead of being the one to bash it. But with this I simply can not find a positive thing to say about it, except that, thank goodness I did not have to pay for it. Very bitter scent. If you like this and don't already have it, save your money, buy an electric pencil sharpener, sharpen a bunch of pencils, pull out the shavings tray, add water, stir, and voila! You have Gucci pour Homme

Claiborne Sport by Liz Claiborne
I have mixed feelings about this fragrance. It is certainly not a bad smell. However, it really doesn't impress me a lot. I bought a bottle of this about 6 years ago and I still have it. I wear it from time to time. The lasting power is pretty decent. I suppose I am really not a "sporty scent" person in general so perhaps I am being a bit unfair to it. I guess you could say that in its niche this is a pretty good scent all in all.

PS by Paul Sebastian
My dad wore this cologne for years when I was younger. It always reminds me of him. The scent is very clean smelling. Perhaps not really for people my age but I think wouldn't mind wearing it myself. I would say if you are 35 up and are looking for a nice clean semi-sweet smell that most will like and none will be offended by then this is perfect.

Armani Code / Black Code by Giorgio Armani
Black Code is great for Sunday wear or more formal events. I suppose that you could pull it off for everyday, but I would rather have something different for daily wear. If you can only have one fragrance this probably isn't the one, but if have several and need something more formal/evening like then this would be a great addition.

Romance Silver Men by Ralph Lauren
I really, really like this scent. This is my favorite from Ralph Lauren since Polo Crest. I certainly like it a lot better than plain Romance. To me it is less "heavy" than Romance which IS also a good scent. And yes, women do like this as well. I ran into an ex-girlfriend the first day I wore this and she mentioned the smell and couldn't stop hugging me.

Polo Crest by Ralph Lauren
I will agree with the other reviews, this is certainly one of, if not THE, best fragrances that Ralph Lauren has put out there. I bought a big bottle of this not long after it came out and I still have it. I love it and still wear it often. I was so disappointed when I found out that it was being discontinued. BRING IT BACK!

Jaguar (new) by Jaguar
I don't understand the strongly negative reviews. I will readily admit that this isn't my favorite scent, nor is it the most sophisticated. I don't love it, but I DO like it. I will agree with one reviewer who stated that in the world of cars it is no Jaguar. I don't think it's a Pinto either though. I would rate at as a nice but generally unimpressive Mercury or Buick.

Dunhill by Alfred Dunhill
I bought a bottle of this two days ago and I absolutely love it. I have seen several negative reviews on here for it and I suppose everyone has there own sense of what smells good and especially what smells good on them, but I really like this. Although there are a few other scents that resemble this one in smell, none I can think of are as good and I don't know a lot of people that wear them. So for the people I know at least this is a fairly unique scent.

True Star Men by Tommy Hilfiger
Just picked up a bottle of this today so I can't really comment on staying power in different situations. However, I do like the scent it reminds me a lot of a more lemony (less well balanced) version of Dunhill Man which I think is a superb fragrance. So if you like dunhill man but are looking for something less expensive this is worth a look.
