Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens

i found this one to be soft and delicate, incense like spices merge with a purring amber base. i purchased it in a romantic alley one night venezia, and it has the qualities of a dark venetian night, stars reflecting on water, sensuality and seduction peering from behind masks...

Nu Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent

stunning cobalt wrapped in silver violet disc,, a perfume of leathery incense, smoky mysterious sophisticated confident. i save it for special occasions. it reminds me of YSL's 'le smoking' fashions, a modern version of the 40s film noir stars who wore mens clothes and hair either falling over the eye or slicked back a la garconne...

In Love Again by Yves Saint Laurent

one of the few florals i am attracted to, a fresh quality (not long lasting) that is mouthwatering on top of a very soft sexy base that seems like musk. i am recommending it to girlfriends who wear florals...

Yvresse / Champagne by Yves Saint Laurent

i loved this when it came out, sparling fresh lichti fruit/flower. a flamenco-based dance coach from spain was grooming our dancer troupe for a sensual ballet to a score that incorporated the 'song of songs' and she told us to eat litchi before we danced, so we would all be dancing aphrodisiacs.
unfortunately, people dont like this perfume on me...

Angel by Thierry Mugler

its strong and seductive, worn by lolita temptresses of all ages. the bottle is ethereal but the scent is a provocative man-chaser! younger men in their 20s seem to like it on me...

Féminité du Bois by Serge Lutens

the bottle is like a swaying sculpture silhouette of a slim willowlike dancer in a plum silk kimono. this fragrance was startling in its sophistication and indiviuality, then i became intoxicated. its woodsy cedar unfortunately made someone remark that it was more than the cedar of new pencils, more like a hampster cage! aaaggghhhh! i think its too elegant for typical american palette, save for a voyage to paris/morocco...

Magie Noire by Lancôme

first perfume that got my attention, when i was a teenager trying to be trying to be dark, exotic and 'differnt' ( others were wearing sweet floral 'lauren' or 'anais anias'. reminds me of the spice route through the orient.

Sun Moon Stars by Lagerfeld

this one seemed soft sweet and feminine, almost powdery. beautiful night sky bottle!

Le Feu d'Issey by Issey Miyake

this stunning bottle is like a sphere of a fire opal. the perfume has a mouthwatering citrusy flower on top, and then softens to a milky amber, more layers than in most mainstream perfumes. i think it is an unheralded siren.
unfortunately it is a little heavy on me and too 'perfumey', so it migrated onto my best friend...

Eau de Givenchy (original) by Givenchy

this one is charming yet carnal,,, wet and dewy spring flowers, . a favorite among my ballerina freinds when we were young, and we usually had to go to paris to track it down.

DK Collection Chaos by Donna Karan

i am one of those who fell in love with with mysterious incense of chaos, it was soft but not too smoky and dry. incredible bottle and travel bottle that looked like a sliver in crystal. so disappointed that they made this and discontinued so soon, and its unaffordable to track down online... i am saving up what is left in my bottle, but worried it might go 'off' if i keep saving it...

Dolce Vita by Christian Dior

i didnt think i would like this, based on the description and the bottle which i found too 'old lady-ish', but it had a surprising woodsy warmth which is what i look for in a fragrance. however, like all the perfumes i like it is now harder to find ...

Poison by Christian Dior

this perfume was all the rage on one of my first trips to paris, so it gives me fond memories. i selected it to wear as my signature scent whan i was dancing the lead role of a jealous lover in tango ballet called 'murder in buenos aires'. life imitated art when my best friend, who danced the role of my aristocratic competitor, borrowed the perfume and seduced a handsome norweigan aviator while we stayed on a hotel boat! it DID smell better on her anyhow. i recommend it for green-eyed seductresses with red lipstick, high heeled boots and good taste in wine!

Coco by Chanel

a sophisticated and sensual perfume, with qualities of spice i associate with autumn and christmas time. i would imagine it on a french film star, with dark hair and red lips. actually i heard that catherine zeta jones wore it, and thats a good match.

Obsession by Calvin Klein

strong, bold, androgynous, sexy amber. amber becomes soft but this one needs to be applied gently, and well in advance of being around other people!

Nude by Bill Blass

accurate descriptions so far: at first i didnt like the artificiality but it then enticed me, and seduced others! definitely modern and feminine, a liquid quality. its the preserred seduction tool of two gorgeous songstresses i know.
