Joy by Jean Patou
Wow. Joy is the most unbelievably gorgeous fragrance I have ever experienced. I'm talking about the pure parfum form of Joy. Even my former favorite perfumes don't come close to the luminous beauty of this floral fragrance. Once I smelled it, I couldn't get it out of my mind. When I wear it, it's like being in a fairy tale. It's almost too lovely for the real world, but not quite, because in addition to its perfect rose and jasmine prettiness, it also has elements of the "real world" and the earth that are captivating in their own right. Joy is complex, unique and utterly beautiful.

Angeliques Sous La Pluie by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
This is a unique, original, peppery, crisp and fresh fragrance that has grown on me in a very short period of time. But as much as I love this scent, for some reason I prefer to smell it on a man rather than on myself. I think this is a wonderful scent for a sophisticated, intelligent and somewhat outdoorsy man.

L'Ombre dans L'Eau by Diptyque
L'Ombre dans L'Eau is the scent that got me interested in perfume. My brother gave me some L'Ombre dans L'Eau body wash as a gift one year, and I loved it so much I decided I absolutely had to have the perfume. That was the first bottle of perfume I ever bought for myself. Now, two bottles later, it is still the scent I want to use all summer. I love this perfume. It is a heavenly, natural, green summer garden scent. It makes me happy every time I wear it.

No. 5 by Chanel
This perfume is intoxicatingly beautiful and facinating, yet the EDT smells powdery and somewhat like a bad deoderant, at least on me. How can there be such a difference between the true parfum and the EDT? The difference is dramatic. The perfume is one of my all-time favorite scents, and yet the EDT isn't even in the top 10. Does anyone know what accounts for the extreme difference I perceive between the full-strength perfume and the diluted versions of the same fragrance?
