Rose 31 by Le Labo

Intersting...there is something a bit mysterious almost sinister about this scent. This fragrance would pair well with a dark grey flannel suit, but it's not all business. There is a definate exotic undercurrent with this that I really like. I keep thinking of film noir, well dressed gangsters, 1930's Shanghai, opium trade, gentlemen exchanging pleasntries in an alley cafe, then off to do the dirtywork.

Citron Citron by Miller Harris

This is one of my favorites. Clean and sophisticated. I actually wear this in the fall on the bright sunny days because it is pleasnat and refreshing.
In warmer weather, with this cologne, I reach for a clean white cotton shirt, navy sportcoat, a pocket square and polished shoes.
It comes down to subtle textures and classic clean contrasts, just like the cologne.

Wild Fig and Cassis by Jo Malone

This is a favorite. A wonderful scent, but, its longevity on me is pretty short. A rea natural, grassy, uplifting scent. Perfect for spring, but could really be worn at anytime. I layer it with Pomegranite Noir, which requires very little and lasts quite long. If this were concentrated and had
more projection like it does with the initial application, it would be perfect.

Bigarade Concentrée by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

"Cab driver eats an orange."

That's both funny and accurate.

Bigarade Concentree is now one of my favorites. I have grown to like the initial and short lived abrasiveness. Soon it dries down into a quite pleasant subtle peppery citrus/floral.
The longevity is fair, you will have to renew it for the evening out. Of my small collection, this is the most distinctive, and I have grown to like it. Terre D' Hermes is better overall in my opinion and less expensive, but this is the more dangerous, slightly evil twin.

Cuiron Pour Homme by Helmut Lang

If this fragrance were a color it would be a transluscent white; clean, luminous and modern. It is a really nice balance of clear sparkling notes and softer almost floral notes. The leather, I'm not getting - in an obvious way at any rate. The longevity is quite good. This is a nice uplifting, positive fragrance.
This could pair well with more casual clothing for a night out. It could also dress up for formal occaisions, since it is distinct and present but not intrusive. Seems to be a fragrance for all seasons.

Eau de Caron Forte by Caron

This is spectacular out of the bottle.
The longevity seems to be decent. On my skin it wears very similar to Green Irish Tweed, It's not that it smells exactly like it, but it has a similar kind of vibrancy. I'd pair this with a navy blue or linen jacket, and a colored shirt. This is a fragrance that is confident, but still mellow. I agree with the above review -seems better suited for the warmer sunny days.

Cologne Bigarade by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

Bigrade Concentree:
This starts out sharp and bitter, almost a peppery citrus. 30 minutes later, it begins to mellow. The citrus sharpness begins to give way to more floral almost vanilla like sweetness. By the end of the day it is faint, clean, pleasant. I think one of the above reviews characterizes it as eccentric. This is accurate, and part of its appeal. If Bigrade Concentree were architecture, it would be Le Corbusier's Villa Savoy -bright, slightly eccentric, but elegant in its straightforward geometry.

Terre d'Hermès by Hermès

Elegant scent. Bright citrus initially, which is nicely abrassive. Then mellows to a clean crip earthy freshness. Brings to mind images of manicured bright green lawns after a rain and later neatly pressed white shirts. I think it compliments suits -pair it with a dark navy suit, a crisp white shirt and a colorfull Hermes tie.

Gucci pour Homme by Gucci

One of my favorites.
This is a cold weather /evening scent to me. It lasts on my skin and clothes and I like the old world / exotic aspect it has. It conjures images of dark charcoal pinstripe suits and sultry victorian furniture. The bottle is great for its minimalism, but make sure your hands are dry, its heavy.
