| | Voyage by NauticaOn my skin the top notes is like Kenneth Cole Reaction. Maybe this is due to the apple note. The midle notes is like Davidoff Echo Man with a hint of Azzaro Chrome sour note. The base notes is like after you had your morning shower----just clean fresh. Sillage is average, longevity is below average in a hot humid climate. Just get Davidoff Echo Man than Nautica Voyage as to me Echo has better sillage than Voyage. Voyage is just plain inoffensive and smells like been-there-done-that perfume to the point of being too generic. I bet Voyage will be much better and unique if the Nose put a strong but yet airy woods/herbs as the base notes. A neutral rating from me. 29th October, 2008. |
| | L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Intense by Issey MiyakeInitial burst of citrus only lasts for 1 minute. Then the smoky, woody with just a tiny hint of spice scent.......appears. Smells very masculine yet young. Longevity is not that great. Just around 4 hours. Sillage is very discreet and personal especially after 1 hour. I just wish the smoky woody scent would lasts forever..... 21st May, 2008. |
| | Echo by DavidoffSmells light sweet and synthetic as it doesn't reflect any nature's scent. Can be sickening if over applied during hot summer. Sillage is ok (not too strong and not too personal). Longevity is great on me as I could detect it even after 5 hours. But it can turns yucky if sprayed on fabric. I just don't like the bottom notes as it can be quite sickening. Great for daytime, any occasion except evening and dinner. Love the bottle. Very organic influenced. Get the 30ml bottle as it is more organic. 9th April, 2008. |
| | XS pour Homme by Paco RabanneI love it. XS represents floral minty fresh and yet can be worn by men. Longevity is great (more than 5 hours). However, I could not detect any woody notes even after 5 hours. Sillage is quite strong and minimal use is required. Only great for office occasion as it does reflect an emotionless stern men with full of confidence. 9th April, 2008. |
| | Chrome by AzzaroChrome is citrus fresh. But not detergent fresh (Dunhill Fresh). I like Chrome but strangely, I could not wear it everyday. It seems to be a better version of CK One. Better in terms of composition, longevity and sillage. Great for summer and daytime. Casual and office occasion. Longevity is great on my skin (more than 5 hours). 9th April, 2008. |
| | Truth Calvin Klein Men by Calvin KleinCK Truth will make you feel wet. Seriously, the scent makes you feel wet. A bit melony, aquatic, and a bit too common. Can be cloying if overapplied in hot weather (like Malaysia). Slightly sweet, but not sugary or honey sweet. Longevity is half day on my body, one whole day if sprayed on shirt/fabric. Overall it is a good fragrance. 3rd April, 2008. |
| | Bulgari Aqua pour Homme by BulgariSorry, this is not for me. I sprayed onto my chest in the morning and it lasted the whole day. Great longevity. One could feel the saltiness sea breeze in Aqva. It opens up with a citric pungent scent. Thank God that the citric pungent scent was diluted by one's sweat in a hot summer noon. It smells great after being diluted. Really great for that summer Sunday picnic by the sea. Overapply will make you sick. 16th January, 2008. (Last Edited: 20th April, 2008.) |
| | Original Vetiver by CreedDespite the opening is very similar to Thierry Mugler Cologne, Original Vetiver seems to be better in terms of sillage power. If Mugler Cologne feels younger and fresher, the Original Vetiver is the grown-up version of it. Original Vetiver feels more matured, powdery & soapy and has different end notes than Mugler Cologne. Same with Mugler Cologne, Original Vetiver is suitable for office occasion and daytime. It will not offend anyone. Personally, I'll choose Mugler Cologne over Original Vetiver as Original Vetiver is too powdery for my taste, feels too matured for my age (25) and a bit expensive. It smells weird to the extent of making me want to vomit if worn during cold rainy days but during hot sweaty summer days, it smells heavenly. I could even detect a floral hint from the vetiver scent when I'm sweating. Great stuff. 19th December, 2007. (Last Edited: 9th April, 2008.) |
| | Mugler Cologne by Thierry MuglerI'll give 9/10 (almost perfect/best) rating for my taste as the only drawback is the sillage as it is very minimal. The heavenly green scent stays very close to the skin. A very personal perfume. Longevity is average. I sprayed onto my chest and it only lasts for 5 hours. This perfume is perfect for office occasion as it will not offend anyone. The citrus opening is very mild and do not smell like the typical citrus scent. Then the citrus turns to something soapy green but not powdery. Smells very fresh and young despite the soapy characteristic. I just wish it could have a stronger sillage power. Despite the drawback, this will be my number one perfume. 19th December, 2007. |
| | Polo Explorer by Ralph LaurenStay away from this fragrance. Sweet powdery notes dominates all the way. I cannot detect any fresh smell in it. Somehow it reminded me of slight vomit smell. Yuckkkkkkkkkkkk 15th November, 2007. |
| | Bulgari pour Homme Extreme by Bulgarigreat fragrance. i don't find it fresh as some might say despite the citrussy opening notes. Thank God the citrussy opening is not pungent sharp. Extreme is more towards that woody dry feelings. Like that dried leaves texture. Maybe due to the tea notes? It has great longevity maybe due to my oily skin? overall, it is a great fragrance for that office or weekend occasion. strictly not for evening dinner date occasion as it does not have that seduction power like YSL M7 or Gucci Envy. 10th November, 2007. |
| | Brit for Men by BurberryThe top notes reminds me of Gucci Envy for Men. However, it is not too strong as Envy. A powdery/creamy feels appear after the top notes settled down. Then, the rose notes appears. The rose scent makes Brit a bit too feminine for my taste. The rose scent lingers very looooooooong. I would recommend this for that weekend daytime or that dinner with someone special. Not a very masculine fragrance. Want masculine type? Go for M7. 12nd October, 2007. |
| | Of a Man by Body ShopA great attempt from BodyShop. I just love it. Very fresh, citrusy clean and simple type. The citrus is not sharp at all. Great. However, due to its simplicity, it gives an impression of a cheap type perfume. Great for sporty, office occasion. Very long lasting and value for money. I love it. I just wish it could give a more complex citrus-green scent. 12nd October, 2007. |
| | Happy for Men by CliniqueA great citrus/sporty fragrance. Not as sharp as CK One Summer's top notes. Clinique Happy for Men has that clean simple scent. I would recommend this for that hot summer, disco clubbing occasion. The disadvantages: not long lasting, too simple scent(has that cheap perfume impression). Advantages: Not a sharp type, suitable for that summer, sporty occasion. Not sure whether this suits office occasion though. 12nd October, 2007. |
| | Envy for Men by GucciAn iconic fragrance. Love it. Great for that romantic night as this fragrance is very woody, masculine and strong. It opens up with fresh gingery smell and then it turns to some woody greenish scent (like CK Eternity). However, it does not last very long (the fragrance: Gucci Envy). Wanna a long lasting, a bit feminine type, go for Burberry Brit for man. Gucci Envy for Man: My tool for taming the wild femme fatale. 12nd October, 2007. |
| | Blue Jeans by VersaceSomething wrong with this scent. A very strange sweet sharp notes dominates this Blue Jeans. Not my cup of tea, though. Sorry. Advantage:very affordable and strong smell. Disadvantages: Weird sweet smell, smells too synthetic? 12nd October, 2007. |
