I love this. It's complex, beautifully blended, nothing overly jumps out but it's an elegant sexy intoxicating fragrance that always makes me feel confident and beautiful. Typically guerlain, you can feel it in L'Intense, Shalimar, Heritage to a degree. It's green, citrus, woody, soft and nest like in the drydown. Fits all occasions. It's the Guerlinade...
I totally get the makeup which kicks in after a few minutes. Its waxy plastic irises in a vase. Not full bottle worthy IMO.
The most perfect fume! I wore nothing else in my twenties before I was really able to understand, then I discarded it totally in favour of citrus scents in my early thirties, only to come back to it now, to rediscover it perfectly and completely. So much so that I now have edt (for bedtime), edp and vintage edp and parfum concentrations, im a Shalimar maniac! It's hypnotising and all encompassing - I have a lot of perfumes, and yet now I've rediscovered SHalimar I'm having a hard time wearing anything else. It feels like I'm cheating! I love Shalimar and I can believe I neglected her for so long. It's an incredible fragrance, from the Bergamot sharp opening to the nest like Opoponax tonka vanilla drydown. Genius.xxx
Wow! My first full day of wearing and it's complete love! A very beautiful and complete fragrance IMO. Reminds me of Guerlain Cologne 68 and a bit of L'instant de Guerlain pour homme. I can't believe it cost me £7.99! I'm stocking up!
thankfully the apricot isn't overdone as its not fruity to my nose. The patchouli is not too heavy, all in all the notes (and there must be more than are listed here!) blend perfectly into a soft characterful depth. It smells so much More expensive. Quality.
Just on my wrist... Smokey minty and herby. Strong top notes but mellowing out a bit after 5 mins or so. Somehow it really does smell like storms or something.it smells quite electric if that makes any kind of sense. Odd and quite intriguing. Quite male, which I have no problem with. A bit toothpastey though, just like their Dirty is toothpastey, but this also has the slight germolene note of Breath of God. Hmmmm I'll have to give this more time and probably more wearings. Not an immediate fall over myself love, but very interesting none the less.
I tried Jicky Yesterday and got greasy motor mechanic and farmyard! But it was addictive in my wrist! I have Kiehls musk which is already dirty.... I think I can live without Jicky.
Such a powdery dry down. Can I pull this off? I don't know. I'm a guerlain vetiver girl and I don't do powdery, but I'm getting into vanilla after twent years off! Maybe I can do...
