JHL by Aramis
Unbelievably smooth and rich. Cognac or Armagnac are great analogies. I do get the cinnamon, but everything else is just this great blend. Apply sparingly and not for hot weather or every day, but...wow! Just picked this up at Bloomies NYC for $60. The salesperson said that it sells out as soon as it comes in.
I used to have this unreasonable snobbery about Aramis products, but in the last year have come to realise how many brilliant scents they have created.

Allure Sensuelle by Chanel
I am glad to see that more and more Basenoters are weighing in on the positive side for this. It has often been seen as a lower quality add-on to one of the most distinguished lines in the history of fragrance. I can only say that it has become (along with Vetiver Oriental) my girlfriend's "go-to" scent. It smells unbelievably sexy on her and garners compliments everywhere she goes. I frankly think it's too bad they didn't give it its own name, rather than just adding the word Sensuelle.

Agrumi Amaria di Sicilia by Bois 1920
Along with Balle de Match, this has become my favorite citrus warm weather fragrance. It is very much in the Italian Acqua di Parma or Carthusia style, but works better on me. It proceeds very smoothly from the citrus opening through some light floral to the woody finish. It gives a very fresh and natural impression and never loses its touch of citrus bitterness. Longevity is excellent for this style. Refreshing and classy. There is nothing radical here, just great refinement.

Burberry London for Men by Burberry
Am so glad that support seems to be building for this. It's actually the first Burberry that I have really liked. It is very pleasing and, dare I say, inoffensive, without being boring. An unusual combo. It is rich, relatively complex, without getting too sweet or powdery. Basically a cool weather fragrance, it just plain smells good. Sillage is not that great, but I can smell it on my wrist many hours after application.
I hope they stick with this, because it really is quite different and classy.
PS The cloth covered bottle is clever and practical, but I think that the trademark tartan has too many cheesy connotations for this wonderful fragrance.

Basala / Basara by Shiseido
I like this a lot. Although created in the early nineties, it has a seventies-eighties feel. As several members have pointed out, it starts off strong and lasts forever, but it mellows out in time without ever becoming sweet. I just think that it's very interesting and a very good deal.

Vetyver Lanvin (new) by Lanvin
I think this is actually a bit underrated. I certainly like it better than Guerlain's famous Vetiver. It's not terribly complex, but it stays crisp and refreshing with a touch of bitterness. A good everyday masculine fragrance that women seem to like.

Millésime Impérial by Creed
An amazing fragrance whose every note seems to work well on my skin--it unfortunately also gives me an itchy rash. I used to try wearing it sparingly on special occasions, but finally gave up. Too bad, because it really is very elegant.
