Timbuktu by L'Artisan Parfumeur
AMAZING from the start. For me, the wood and 'incense' start from the beginning, I do not get any mango at all. The woody accord is very well balanced with the vetiver and fougere elements. It stays close to the skin and has good longevity. A very unique scent, people will remember you when they smell this on you (in a good way). I am merely a beginner in the fragrances, but I already recognize that this is the work of a perfume-genius. I have to get one bottle once I am in a higher salary bracket. Thumbs and toes up.

Terre d'Hermès by Hermès
I do not find Terre d'Hermes hard to wear. It is a fragrance that I use regularly, because to me, it is a very safe scent. I get a 'professional' feel from the scent. I think the name is a misnomer though. I was expecting something like L'air du Desert Marocain, but there is no earth, sand, rock or coal at all. I get bergamot, but not at all the 'rotten orange' that some other members have described. The benzoin is obvious during drydown. Good longevity.

Shalimar by Guerlain
Got a 1.7 oz EDT tester at Manhattan's 'fragrance district' for US$17. I absolutely adore this fragrance on my wife. Love how the fragrance unfolds. I wear one spray sometimes when I want vanilla and tonka. I do not get much of the stated bergamot top note. Shalimar just starts immediately with the opopanax on me, producing a powdery scent. Then the AMAZING vanilla and tonka notes develop. On my wife, the vanilla smells very comfortable. Great sillage but not cloying. I am going to buy a Shalimar parfum at the same store, I was given a US$32 quote for 3.4 oz! Thumbs way up.

A*Men / Angel Men by Thierry Mugler
I like this gourmand, especially the drydown. Great sillage and longevity. Not exactly coffee or chocolate, it conjures a warm feeling. I apply only 2 sprays when I wear this to work. I overapplied one time during work, and I had people sneezing around me. Value for money, because this 1.7 oz is going to last me a long time.

M7 by Yves Saint Laurent
Wore this on a night shift at work. During a very busy part of the shift, which involved physical activity in a critical situation, the scent just wafted from my chest and I relished the soothing woody breeze amidst the chaos. Has good longevity and sillage, which is why I use M7 when doing a long shift at work.
I do not find it medicinal at all. I find that it is very much a linear scent, I get agarwood from the beginning until the drydown.
