Acqua di Genova Colonia by Acqua di Genova

I tried this for the first time about a week ago in a specialist perfume shop London. I know Aqua Di Parma very well, but had not come across Acqua Di Genova before.

It's a delightful, light fragrance reminding one of the pure essence of an Italian summer distilled into a bottle. The lemon, orange and bergamot top notes give way to the citrus and woody basenotes. It's quite lovely, can be worn by either sex and is so much more subtle than Aqua Di Parma.

Despite the range of one-off perfumes on display in shop I purchased it in, I was surprised to discover Aqua Di Genova was the single biggest seller.

Highly recommended!

Acier Aluminium by Creed

I ran out of samples and finally purchased a bottle of this. Quite simply, this is one of the most distinctive male fragances around and it works on every level to the extent it is likely to become a signature fragrance for me. Hard to find, but well worth the effort!

Caron Impact Pour un Homme by Caron

I tried a sample of this at Les Senteurs in London. I use Pour Un Homme as a business fragrance and was so looking forward to experiencing 'Impact'.

Overall, I found it disappointing and non-distinctive. Yes, the warm amber undertone is there, but the freshness and sharpness of the original is lost.

Back to the original!

Eau de Gloire by Parfum d'Empire

Tried a sample of this at Les Scenteurs in London and was impressed enough to buy a bottle. This is an elegant and long-lasting fragrance - quite strong - so only a little is needed. Very distinctive and if you like Caron's Pour Un Homme, you will probably like this.

Caron Pour Un Homme by Caron

Caron state that Pour Un Homme was the very first fragrance ever created for men. It is certainly highly distinctive with a balanced, almost 'herbal' and quite intoxicating kick. A good every day 'business' fragrance and one that few others will be wearing. Good investment.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

An elegant and beautiful fragrance that strikes me as more for the sophisticted lady as opposed to a male fragrance which could explain why so many women love it.

Jasper Conran Man by Jasper Conran

This is very ordinary, its has very strong lemon scent, and the drydown is awful, its nothing special that justifies the price.
