Comme des Garçons 2 by Comme des Garçons
This fragrance aspires to a high level of art. The mercurial bottle with alchemical references to Gemini juxtaposes the thin hand-drawn number 2 with thick machine lettering hints at what is in fact the beginning of a complicated and intellectual analysis of duality through the medium of smell. Marc Buxton's genius is to create something accessible and beautiful that draws simultaneous opposite associations deep out of the subconcious. For example, male / female (of course!), hot / cold, avant-garde / traditional, wet / dry, clean / dirty, synthetic/ natural. The list of notes create a sort of Kabbalistic programme worthy of Marcel Duchamp. This is actually my ultimate fragrance. I cannot get tired of inhaling it.

Comme des Garçons 2 Man by Comme des Garçons
Rather conventional drydown - lovely smokey oriental. Then... 20 minutes later it turns really nasty on me. The smell of cheap room freshener pervades and I have to reach for soap, water and rubbing alcohol to get rid of it. Compared to other CdG offerings, this one is particularly dull.

Odeur 71 by Comme des Garçons
This is an "outsider" perfume. Lonely, melancholy, nostalgic, cynical and self-searching. Wear it for your own enjoyment and not for others. The notes don't evolve over time, but depending on your state of mind evoke bizarre unconcious associations. A perfume homage to the music of Ligeti, Stockhausen, Xenakis... Fantastic!!!
