M7 by Yves Saint Laurent
I have never been a fan of M7. But things took a dramatic turn recently. I decided to test this one again, and what do you know, it was like match made in heaven, i was somehow smitten. This one took me the longest time to figure out, but it was worth the wait, the result is that now i cannot live without it. It is just so magical! And also since agarwood is so rare and expensive these days, i might as well stock up on this one. M7 starts out fresh, it awakens you right away. Then it settles into a gorgeous sweet medicinal agarwood note combined with the vetiver to give it a masculine edge. And this medicinal character really gives it a uniqueness, this is also where the burning smell is coming from, thus it might be hard to take it in right away, but with time you'll realize just how special it is. The fragrance gets softer and sweeter, but does not lose its power and masculine edge. The overall effect is luxurious, hypnotic and seductive, taking blissfulness to a new level. It is the best thing i have ever smelled in the earth's entire existence.

Eau de Thé Vert by Roger & Gallet
Finally, a superb green tea fragrance for men. The green tea is very pure and natural in this one, it simply dominates, and with the added woods it gives a mascluine character. It's really soothing and uplifting, and it could be worn any season, anytime and any occasion. The longevity is also quite surprising. This one is definitely on par with my beloved Yang, and as far as tea scents go, this is definitely right up there in the top 3 if not the best.

Eau Noire Cologne by Christian Dior
To me this is the perfect sweet oriental fragrance. It starts out like a sweet harsh herbal medicine shop, but it becomes softer as the scent reveals itself, however i still detect the herbal quality with more added vanilla. It smells dark, classy and ultra luxurious, sweet but never cloying. It is also a perfect night time fragrance with its declared sexiness and boldness. It is totally intoxicating, hypnotizing everyone in its path, drawning them into a world of blissfulness. It's everything i've ever wanted in an oriental fragrance. A superb creation that is very exclusive is also the only sweet oriental i will ever need if i were to pick out of the countless. Believe the hype!

Cuiron Pour Homme by Helmut Lang
A very sensual leather fragrance, though there's much going on besides the leather. This is like a toned down version of CDG 2 Man without the smoke and harshness. The Cuiron has a sweet character to it, but not in a sense of powdery or candy-like sweet. It is much more like a clean softness. It's too bad this scent is being discontinued as i've heard. It is a must have for leather lovers, and arguably the best leather fragrance ever made.

Basala / Basara by Shiseido
This is THE find of the year for me. It is totally amazing. It smells green, woody, spicy, smokey, insensy and something in it does remind me of plastic, that vivid plastic subtleness really gives it a mysterious character. If evil had a smell this would be it. It's as if Satan had walked the earth carrying with him trails of fire that could not be extinguished.

Idole de Lubin by Lubin
Totally awesome scent! A spicy start followed by a woody and insense-like finish, also with a subtle sweetness probably due to the sugar cane. somewhere in there reminds me a bit of Timbuktu and Santal Noble but with some smokiness. This is definitely a top 5 scent of all time, a superb new fragrance from Lubin in a new century!

Terre d'Hermès by Hermès
A unique blend from the master Jean Claude Ellena. A fragrance that contains no animal notes and musks. One can detect the vegetal nature of this masterpiece right away. Just like the description, it smells like different elements of the earth, first the green damp forest, then comes the woods and the stones, and finally the fire, the spice and the flowers reveal themselves. It's a stunning creation, would work wonders in the summer. It is also subtle yet long lasting, designed to be closer to the skin, giving a perfect skin accord to each individual. Very original and creative, have to give Jean Claude Ellena a big round of applause for this piece!

Narziß by Dorissima
This stuff is totally stunning! It's a sweet green fragrance. I love the vetiver and tonka combo, the vetiver is very noticeable, and the hint of floral sweetness lingers on the background. It's very original, and it is one of the most lasting fragrances i've come across, i could smell myself after a day with just one spray, wow! It really is a masterpiece!

Dior Homme by Christian Dior
Two thumbs up! A bold and daring iris fragrance for men and it managed to remain masculine. This is probably my favorite powdery sweet fragrance with a floral bite. It also smells really classy, definitely not for t-shirt and jeans, i think it suits really well in the professional business environment. This has quickly climbed on the top of my list.

Égoïste / L'Égoïste by Chanel
I agree with the medicinal quality in this one. I also smell some tea element in this, keeps on reminding me of stale iced tea, and sometimes even Tea For Two from a strange smoky character. It is a good fragrance but certainly not the best sweet orientals out there, definitely test first.

Samouraï by Alain Delon
The first time i came across this fragrance i thought it was just going to be another fresh aquatic type of scent. But i was in for a surprise. This fragrance truly has a unique twist on freshness, it's peppery, sweet and floral. The pepper really adds some sexiness to this one, with all these elements combined it somehow still managed to have that fresh feel, a top of the line fresh oriental indeed. Superb!!

DK Men Unleaded by Donna Karan
Having never tried the Original, i do not know how to compare this one with the Leaded. This is truly one of a kind, never smelled anything like it. It's powdery, fresh and sweet, but not sweet in a sense of a gourmand way. It's rather sweet like a quality cigar, in other words, it has a sexy sweet tabacco note to it. I also smell the suede. It's a bit on the light side, but quite subtle. An excellent fragrance!

Dzing! by L'Artisan Parfumeur
Having tried most L'Artisan scents, Dzing! has become my favorite among all of them. Just about everything in this line is amazing, but my taste for Dzing! has changed quickly, not only it is my favorite L'Artisan, it is also my favorite fragrance in general. Truly is art at its finest form!

Comme des Garçons 2 Man by Comme des Garçons
I like the creativity of Comme des Garcons. 2 Man is no exception. It smells like many things at once. To me, i get the smoke, wood, soapiness, insense and body odor smell, it is quite strange. Everywhere i go people ask me about it, and i often keep it as a secret. Some people say that it smells like Gucci Pour Homme, i tend to agree with this. But Gucci Pour Homme is more dry in comparison and is definitely more woody. But if you like one of them, you'd like the other. This fragrance also lasts a good amount of time, will pretty much carry you through the day, but it's definitely for winter use. Final words, i whole-heartedly recommend this one, especially those who seeks originality and woody insense fragrances.

Comme des Garçons 2 by Comme des Garçons
The first time i tried this, i liked it, liked it enough to buy a bottle. After i wore it a few times, i've noticed that it smelled actually quite feminine. People even asked me if i was wearing some kind of perfume cuz i smelled like a girl. It smelled very powdery and maybe the aldehyde gave off a floral smell. I also did not detect much of the Sumi ink note which everybody else was claiming. Lastly, it smells almost identical to Custom National's Scent and Scent intense. And it is true, if you're brave enough to wear it, then it might be for you, but to me, it's a bit too feminine for my taste.

Scent by Costume National
I came across this by accident in Holt Renfrew in Toronto. I was very excited about testing this exclusive fragrance. At first it smelled quite nice, but then it reminded me something so similar. I suddenly recalled CDG 2. At one point, it smelled exactly like CDG 2. I also tried the Intense version, but they smelled way too similar. It also smelled more feminine than masculine. There's definitely some floral quality about it. Having traded my CDG 2, there was no way i was going to buy its clone. However if you dont mind it being a bit feminine, you just might like it.

Very Irrésistible for Men by Givenchy
Tried this fragrance on the first day of its release. I was very disappointed! I like most Givenchy fragrances, therefore i was very eager to try this and hoped to get a bottle. When i tried it, something similar came to mind right away, it smelled so much like Allure and Lalique Le Faune, it also smells like Xeryous Rouge and Hanae Mori, then it smells like a combination of all the above. It was horribly unoriginal. I think that Allure is better. This was a total let down for me. Nontheless it is still an ok scent. Definitely try before buy!

Magnetism for Men by Escada
At first i didnt really like it, smelled like grape powder. But the dry-down is gorgeous. It truly is a dead sexy fragrance, got tons of compliments on it, wow is all i can say! Unbelivable!

John Varvatos by John Varvatos
Hands down the best release in 2004! It's sweet, warm and masculine. The dry-down is to die for, received too many compliments the first day i wore it, it was a very over-whelming experience. Get your hands on a bottle if you can!

Yang by Jacques Fath
Undoubtedly the best tea scent i've smelled. There's also a smokey sweet character to it, though it's not the tea that's smokey. Very unique and original scent. Top notch everyday scent, highly recommended!

Passage d'Enfer by L'Artisan Parfumeur
You are lost, you see nothing but flames, fireballs dance from all direction. You are surrounded by the smoke coming from above. You pass by the souls that are dipped in the water beneath, they reach out their hands as to pull you down. You start to feel mysterious about everything surrounding you, you dont exactly know where you are, it is certainly not paradise. The smoke is getting heavier until it finally vanished into the waters, and beyond the waters, there is light, and the light widens as if a door is opening, you walk towards the light while the smoke gradually disappears into the water once again, you are approaching the light, suddenly the light dims and a door opens into a very long and dark hallway, you walk in and two cats jumped out from the side. As you are engulfed by the darkness, a cool breeze blows by, you can now sense the direction where it's coming from, you are guided by this unsual yet spiritual sense, unexpectedly you hear someone laughing, the laugh starts to get louder, it starts to get deeper, you start to feel afraid, the smell seems to get stronger, you cannot control your emotions anymore, and you start to scream..."Where Am I????"............you opened your eyes, you are sweating, you see posters on the wall, you see a table, on top of the table, there is a bottle that has a sticker and some writings on it, you turned on the lights, now you can see the wordings on the bottle, it says "Passage D'Enfer", and envisions "The Gates of Hell". You realize that you just had a dream.

Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur
Being an avid tea drinker, i just love all scents that have a tea note. T42 is dominated by this note, and indeed quite smoky in nature. A very unique scent, although not my favorite L'Artisan, it's certainly up there with the best. To reply to Milamber, i didn't like Merchant Loupe at all, probably my least favorite in the L'Artisan line. Passage d'Enfer is utterly strange, smells like insense, but it smells really good, especially the dry-down, i guess that's what you'd smell like if you just had a journey through hell.

Santal Noble by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier
Arguably the best Niche fragrance ever made. Not particularly versatile, but the scent is very memorable. Very woody and creamy with an incense touch. It is by no means an easy scent although it evolves around sandalwood. It's full of surprises. It possesses one of the best dry-downs one can ever witness.

Voleur de Roses by L'Artisan Parfumeur
One of the best fragrances i've ever encountered. From top to bottom, the stuff leaves you breatheless. A very daring rose scent for a man to wear, but it's by no means at all feminine. You'll be trapped in a garden full of roses instantly, with a wet soil touch. It literally brings you to a world of its own!

A*Men / Angel Men by Thierry Mugler
Wow, what can i say? This is my favorite gourmand of all time, a true pure gourmand. It's simply stunning, shocking and daring, the quality speaks for itself. An instant classic that will last for decades to come. It'll stop your chocolate cravings just like nicotine will stop your cigarette cravings. Sure some dont like it, but to each his own. Highly recommended!

Tam Dao by Diptyque
Creamy top notes, intensely woody dry-down. Outstanding mono-note fragrance. It's true....it smells absolutely divine!

Mat; Male by Masakï Matsushïma
the smell reminded me a bit of Dolce&Gabbana at first, and then settles nicely into a fresher and floral scent. Top notch.

Vetyver Uomo by Malizia
Not very well-known(which is good). Very underrated, smells very clean.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed
It doesn't smell like curve to me, it smells more like Cool Water. Cool Water always wanted to be like GIT but fails. But for its price i can see why most people went for Cool Water. This is a fragrance that you really have to appreciate over time just like all other Creeds. Just because you dont like it at first or it smells like Curve or Cool Water, doesn't mean it's not worth a try. Everytime i try it, i seem to like it more, and on its dry-down, it's far more superior than Curve or Cool Water. But it's not my favorite Creed by all means. I just see people compare this with the other 2 similar scents, and really there's no match, GIT defines class, only in the taste of a fragrance master, not for high school kids.

Vera Wang and Lanvin L'Homme are very similar with the fresh notes, both are superb colognes!

The difference between Lacoste and Boss Bottled is minimal! But i do think that Lacoste smells a bit better.

Diesel Plus Plus by Diesel
This fragrance smells very nice, to me it smells like Boss Bottled, and the difference is minimal.

Insensé by Givenchy
This fragrance opens with the smell of bouquet of wild flowers, and then settles into a less spicier floral and wooday aroma. And wow the result is unlike anything i've seen, it really is one of a kind and very original!

Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana
Best fragrance out there! The only problem is that too many people use this stuff.
