Carnal Flower by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
I prayed that I would not fall in love with this scent because even my one love in the Frederic Malle line (Lys Méditerranée) is proving too much for my wallet. Alas, I suppose I can live with being poor just as long as I can breathe the scent of Carnal Flower for as long as I live. To me, this scent is pure nostalgia. It evokes sultry nights in Calcutta, a romantic restaurant in Hanoi, rain, gray skies, white blossoms crushed under foot. Unlike many renditions of white flowers, it does not smell heavy or oily or obnoxious; rather is oozes a quiet, almost sad beauty. Smell at your own risk.

Lys Méditerranée by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
I love this because, unlike so many fragrances out there, it isn't a chaotic haze of intermingling notes; it's the pure, poignant scent of lilies.

Angeliques Sous La Pluie by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
I am pretty new to perfume, so I don't know all the terminology and still don't know what half the notes smell like (angelica?), but here are my first impressions:
I got a strong whiff of gin--I wonder if that junipery smell is the angelica? Then I got a very dry woody scent and then the cedar and pepper. The dry down still smells cedar-y, but there's a sweetness there and a touch of ozone/rain. Love the scent, but will have to "test drive" it for a day to see if I could actually wear it.
