Hammam Bouquet by Penhaligon's
A dull rose scent with a hint of citrus and an almost alcoholic smell that lingers like spilled whisky, or cheap aftershave.
I was very excited to try this scent, and I was very disappointed (like I have been with most Panhaligon's scents). It has smelled nice on me on warmer days, but if you're looking for a modern, androgynous floral men's fragrance, check out Fleur Du Male.

parfums*PARFUMS Series 3 Incense: Ouarzazate by Comme des Garçons
This scent is spicy, warm, and slightly sweet. It reminds me quite a bit of the "earthy-yet-modern" smells I've encountered in Aveda salons. In fact, it is very reminiscent of the the colognes my gay hairstylist friend used to wear that would always leave me envious. This has much more depth than the Avignon or Zagorsk perfumes from the same series, and it has much more staying power -- so much so that I grew tired of it by the end of the day. Don't consider that a complaint, however.

Chèvrefeuille Original by Creed
While the fragrance smelled a bit generic upon application (bright, maybe piney, with musky undertones) it possesses a very spicy, complex base which emerges throughout hours of wear. I do smell fennel seed, and possibly a hint of fresh mint, but I certainly wouldn't call it "minty." It is, in fact, a scent that seems more like it was made by a "botanist" than a "floral arranger" (look to Fleur Du Male for that type of scent). It's the new foliage, wild weeds, and dried out flowers in the untended garden behind my great-aunt's house.
This is my first Creed scent, and it really wasn't what I was expecting.

Fleur du Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
This is a wonderful fragrance. It smells like being hit in the nose with a bouquet of flowers. It's unisex, but it leans a bit feminine. It isn't your aunt millie's perfume, however. It's very modern smelling, and would create a perfect olfactory safe haven in the cold air of a big city. It's very warm without being sweet. It isn't sharp in the slightest: I can hold the spray nozzle to my nose and not detect any alcoholic or pine-y aromas.
I can understand all the negative reviews. I didn't like it at first. If I had tested it at a shop I would have walked away, secure in my masculine scent.
