Couture pour Lui by Philippe Venet

I found this at TJ Maxx, next to the female version and for whatever reason preferred this. It's classified as a woody oriental - musk, woods, licorice, lavender, incense, sandalwood, some description include lemon, spearmint & violet. Somedays it is more like church incense, some days more gourmand notes come through.

I love this, bright citrus and ginger against warm vanilla, spices and woods, somewhat on the gouramnd side on my skin. Works great in any weather.

On my skin this is a almost tart but fruity rose, where saffron takes center stage, softened in the base with ambrette and praline for sweetness to counter the astrigent quality. Probably not for everyone, but I love it.

    Yatagan by Caron

I was a little reluctant to take the plunge and buy it unsniffed, but after a couple of years I gave in and I love it. The pine note is huge upon application, but quickly turns into sweet incense, woods and spices on my skin. It seems really masculine at first, but softens up quite a bit and could be considered unisex. I sprayed all my drawer sachets with it as well and it smells great.

Sparkling florals on an almost powdery base. Great for spring and summer, complex, yet uncomplicated and comforting.

Being a huge Caron fan, I took a chance and bought this unsniffed. Not normally one to wear florals much, I was quite surprised how much I love it. The orange blossom lends a bright citrusy note in the opening to play off the green vetiver, both earthy and airy, bright, dries down to a soft warm beauty, although I wouldn't mind the sparkling top notes sticking around the whole time either.

One of my favorite citrus scents. A blend of mandarin orange, a touch of floral on a base of woods and vanilla. Perfect if you're looking for a citrus with complexity and depth.
