Bulgari pour Femme by Bulgari

One of my long-time favorite scents; I wore it for nearly a decade. Always feels elegant and well dressed, never showy. I don't find it powdery on me, but there's a tea note that sort of points in that direction (not as pronounced as the Thé Blanc or Thé Vert scents). It doesn't change a lot as it develops but still I find it to be a really nicely crafted scent.

Dune by Christian Dior

This is the first fragrance I strongly disliked. Unfortunately it's very distinctive smelling and was very popular in the early 90s. It's nice out of the bottle, but then there's a certain heaviness that's really unpleasant for me. I knew someone who wore it all the time but never had the heart to tell her how much it bothered me.

L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake

I fell in love with L'Eau D'Issey when if first came out, and it was my signature scent for many years. To me LEDI is the epitome of a clean, fresh (but not citrusy), and light scent - if you could bottle a breeze, this would be it. It's pure, refined, and never overbearing; floral without being flowery. They say you can never go back, but I'm tempted to buy a bottle simply to reminisce that simpler time in my life!

Cabotine by Grès

This was one of my favorite scents back when it was introduced. Sweet, green, and floral. Elegant, refined, and not at all sharp. Though this was one of my early fragrances, I always thought it smelled French (don't ask what I mean by that...) but not overly mature for someone in her 20s.

The Scent of Peace by Bond No. 9

Fruity and pleasant initially but doesn't seem to last on me (except for the musky base notes). Fares better and keeps its balance on my husband - thus the thumbs up. Still I enjoy wearing Scent of Peace for the first hour or two, and it doesn't bother me that it smells a lot like Light Blue.

I'm not normally one to mix, but I quite like SOP best layered with Bond's Chelsea Flowers, which is pretty but a bit too white-flowery for my personal taste. The SOP bottle is lovely.
