Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein
I used to dislike it when it first came out, maybe it was too floral for my taste then. 10 yrs later I started to like it. Maybe it's because less people wear it (or should I say, overwear as they marinate themselves in it). It's a familiar scent that's more pleasing and calming to me, almost nostalgic. Best to apply lightly as it becomes rather synthetic if overdosed.

Essential by Lacoste
Smells like a light version of CK Escape with more citrus and less grapefruit. Personally I prefer Escape's intensity. Nothing earth-shattering here, though it's a pleasant variation of an older classic that might suit your taste better than mine.

The One by Dolce & Gabbana
I tried this on accidentally as I was looking for The One for Men. I loved the opening, which smells like melon to me but maybe it was the peach + lychee. Very distinctive and delicious. The dry-down though turn into a run-of-the-mill female floral and stayed that way. Very disappointing.

Eau de Paco Rabanne pour Homme by Paco Rabanne
Oh crap, I bought this tonight by accident when I was looking for the regular Paco pour Homme. And this smells nothing like the original. The beginning is too alcoholic and the dry-down smells like awful perfume for teenage girls. Just awful.
Let's hope I can exchange it.

cK one by Calvin Klein
For many years I resisted getting CK One, as it's sooooo immensely popular and.... well, boring. Sure it smells fresh, but also generic and flat. Yet last year as I was looking for a bottle of something simple and inoffensive for work, I decided to get a bottle... because it's one of the cheapest designer house fragrances out there and it's relatively pleasant.
Marketing strategies do work I suppose.
Though in conclusion, I should add that the fact that it's flat and cheap does make it a good choice as a base scent for layering with other fragrances.

A*Men / Angel Men by Thierry Mugler
Tried it at the shop (on my hand, not paper). I like sweet scents but this just smells like cotton candy to me. I think I'd have liked a citrus/melon note to balance that sweetness. It smells very edible (I'm not kidding).
