Wild Lavender / Inglese by Lorenzo Villoresi

This is the most harmonious lavender blend I've found thus far. It seems every note is working with the lavender to showcase it. Clove and ginger are the biggest supporting acts to my nose. I usually don't like clove, but here it works ingeniously with ginger and other notes to create a lavender hologram once the top notes are depleted. This is not powdery to me at all. It is spicy, herbal, dry, and a little resinous. It captures the spicy herbal-ness of lavender essential oil. A scent for lavender lovers like myself. It is indeed a gentleman's scent, but anyone who enjoys lavender could pull this off. I wanted to keep Wild Lavender a secret, but I don't think it gets the praise it deserves. Sure you could say it lacks longevity, but with a liberal application of 5 sprays or so, I have been complimented how nice I smell the day after wearing this. Truly genius work Mr. Villoresi!

Caron Pour Un Homme by Caron

I personally don't understand why lavender is often paired with vanilla in various beauty products. Usually these products don't even smell like lavender. This one actually does and has a great spicy lavender opening. But thats about all I can say. The vanilla makes its appearance pretty quickly, giving it the nostalgic smell of Play-Doh. I do like the smell of Play-Doh, but It's not something I'd like to smell like. Has anyone compared this to Demeter's Play-Doh scent?

Angeliques Sous La Pluie by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

Angeliques Sous La Pluie is the beautiful daughter of French Lover and Bigarade Concentree. She looks more like her mother (BC), but has her father's (FL) eyes. She's somewhat androgynous and appeals to both sexes. A modern beauty.

The One for Men by Dolce & Gabbana

My co-worker practically bathes in this stuff. I had to tell him the truth: it reminds me of a brew of Captain Morgan's spiced rum and toilet bowl cleaner. My entire workplace had an intervention and told him that the scent is incredibly offensive/ terrible.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta by Acqua di Parma

This had the most drastic change in dry down I have ever witnessed. On my skin I got a cedary EdC that transformed into something that smelled like a block of incense, tar, charcoal, and lavender (the kind in Lavanda Tonica, which smells like a rotten, crushed bouquet IMO) I scrubbed multiple times when I got to this phase.

    Black Orchid by Tom Ford

Smells like a bucket of dried cherries rotting. This is dense and heavy, headache inducing. Lots of sillage and lasting power. Definitely not warm weather wear. YSL Nu shares similarities, and that is also somewhat nauseating (to me) [=

    Lalique pour Homme by Lalique

Smells great on paper! On my skin, it dried down to the "vanilla/sandalwood tart" mentioned by mrclmind. I'll pass, but still give it thumbs up for the test strip.

Delicious vetiver which is somewhat feminized (when compared side-by-side to Lalique Encre Noire) but perfectly unisex.

Les Nuits d'Hadrien by Annick Goutal

Picture a lemon creamsicle dipped in gold and which came in an opulent sandalwood box. The only problem is longevity, which seems to be only a couple of hours. This is based on the EDT in the women's bottle.
