Prada Amber pour Homme by Prada
I don't get it. It just smells like bubblebath. No progression, no evolution, just... bubblebath

Allure Homme Edition Blanche by Chanel
This is much better than Allure and Allure sport. I think it's the way the lemon plays with the ginger that grabs my attention. The drydown is a subtler play on the lemon, putting me in mind of a lemon sorbet. I can't smell any tonka in there, and the other notes are more of a supporting cast, but the vetiver makes an appearance as the lemon calms down. Top notch

Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior
Everyone should have sophisticted, refined classic in their collection. You could do a lot worse than this stuff. It transcends it's 40+ years, smelling fresh and relevant whilst exuding old school charm. initially citrusy, giving way to an exquisite blend of herbs. yum

Happy for Men by Clinique
Where does the lovely citrusy orange note go? And what is that weird smell that replaces it? It's kind of musky and ruins the fresh, light opening. I wanted to like this stuff, the female version is great. Maybe I should just wear that and hope no one notices...

Blu Mediterraneo Fico di Amalfi by Acqua di Parma
Let me just preface this by saying I love figs. I mean I REALLY love them. This stuff smells like sweet baby figs in a citrusy sauce. Basically I want to eat it. The citrus notes stop this being a one trick pony, whilst keeping the scent light and fresh. As others have noted (and as i've found with other AdP scents) it lasts less than an hour, which is a real shame.

Blu Mediterraneo Capri Orange / Arancia by Acqua di Parma
Gorgeous, fresh, zesty and invigorating orange scent that would be a great "pick me up". sadly it is all too fleeting, reinforcing it's suitability as an apply when required kind of deal. It disappeared off my GFs arm all too soon (we were tempted to go back to the store for a top up)

Le Mâle by Jean Paul Gaultier
I don't know if I'm alone here, but when I smell this on other people in my office, they smell like they've been up all night on the sauce. This stuff makes people smell somewhere between still drunk and hungover. It's an overly oppressive concoction that seems to trample all other aromas in it's wake. It also seems that le male devotees have the same application issues as Joop! wearers (they seem to cover every inch of skin in the stuff). bleurgh.

Armani Mania by Giorgio Armani
I like this stuff. It's well balanced and not too complicated, and the saffron lifts it above the glut of "blah" designer frags. Having said that, there's not enough to back up the saffron opening. By the time you get to the drydown, it does become somewhat formulaic. Still a thumbs up for definitely my favourite Armani frag.

Comme des Garçons 2 by Comme des Garçons
To me, this fragrance is not as complex as other basenoter's reviews suggest... Once upon a time, a biro exploded in my schoolbag. CdG2 very accurately depicts the smell of my maths book when I extracted it from my bag. Plain and simple. This smells of ink. Very strongly of ink. I would have listed the pyramid as ink, over ink, with inky basenotes. This linearity is not a bad thing, I am fully with the idea of single (or dominant) note frags, especially when the chosen note is so off the wall. I have a strange relationship with this stuff, i cannot make my mind up whether i like it not. I have to give it a thumbs up for 2 reasons.
1. Whether you like the smell or not, you have to respect the fact that CdG release stuff as bold as this
2. The fact that despite not being completely sure I'm a fan of smelling like a biro, I own 25mls of the stuff. It's very rare that ambivalence leads me to purchase something!

Cologne Blanche by Christian Dior
Cologne Blanche is an immensely delicious frag. The orange blossom is fleeting which is no bad thing as it is a trifle sharp to my nose and not what this stuff is all about. At it's heart it smells like almonds coated in sugar and powder. The Rosemary stops things becoming too cloying or sweet and there is next to no alcohol smell. CB stays very close to the skin, this is not a fragrance to wow people with as they probably won't know you're wearing fragrance at all (or assume you are addicted to talcum powder) It is much more intimate. It puts me in mind of 2 things, firstly I envisage an Elizabethan dandy, complete with ruffs and lace handkerchief. Secondly it reminds me of being 8 years old, wrinkly from the bath and covered head to toe in talcum powder. Somewhere between these two things is heaven.

Metallic pepper overlaying a heart of rich saffron and incense. I love the smell of this stuff, and it keeps up the show all day long.
Unfortunately it makes me feel dizzy even if I apply a tiny amount. I've had to part with my bottle, which is a real shame. Still giving it a thumbs up, as i can't blame Antoine Lei for my allergy!

Rochas Man by Rochas
This stuff is divine. I don't really get the "coffee note" although i get a similar kind of bitter, roasted smell. The vanilla is sweet but not overly, which seems all to prevalent in scents of this ilk (A Men anyone?). It's really hard to get where I live, but whilst it's available online, I can't see myself being without it (also it's kinda nice that it's not too common). Only downside to wearing this is i keep sniffing myself and going "mmmm"

Silver Mountain Water by Creed
I don't get a lot the blackcurrent in this, and that which I do get seems to fade quite quickly. The tea notes are the best I've smelt, but I too get a strange inky smell (kind of like a very weak CdG2 hiding in there somewhere) which doesn't ruin the scent but wasn't what I was expecting. Consequently, I'm not sure what to make of this stuff...

Erolfa by Creed
I had high hopes for Erolfa, as (from the listed notes) it seems to be an uncomplicated brew. Also I am always intrigued by things with "ozone" as a listed note, as no two seem to smell the same. Dissapointed was i then that this smells to me like citrus flavoured washing up liquid. Real shame

Original Santal by Creed
When Joop goes to sleep at night, it dreams of smelling like Original Santal. Many comparisons can be made between the two; Both Scents have a massive blast of cinnamon overlying a steady sandalwood note. Both are very sweet. Both are extremely strong. But whilst (to my nose) Joop is cloying and cheap and does sweet in a sickly way, Creed OS is light, and does not become oppressive after 10 minutes wear. Having said that, I don't think it's extraordinary enough to merit the price point. If it were at the same pricepoint as Joop, it would definitely be a winter mainstay.
